Here in Austin, every Sunday we have what is called C.U. @ Circus Arts. (Clowns Unite). Typically, there are tons of hoopers, poi spinners, a rope dart or two, slackline, etc. And every week one of our attendee's to this free event films. The video posted is a bit of me doing some contact and staff spinning as well as my new fire chucks. Hope you like! (I don't like it too much, this was my first spin and my first spin is usually my worst)

And this video is at our weekly Wednesday spin at the Tiniest Bar in Texas. This was originally a 15 minute burn cut down to size :) (I don't move alot in this video as two days earlier in the week I had a freak accident which ripped off a big toenail, making movement hard and painful)

Re: New spinning/contact staff slow motion video
Sat, August 29, 2009 - 11:51 PMSolid wrist contact. You've got scary good stalls and recoveries, but I'd recommend working on your forearm, elbow, bicep, and shoulder contact to balance it out. I'd also say that too many of your moves look unintentional, which can be good for selling the danger of a couple moves a spin, but if every other move looks like you just stopped it from hitting the ground, it loses its impact.
Good stuff though, keep it up. You've got a ton of potential and can clearly keep the contact going where 99% of guys would abandon it and grab it. Its nice to see someone working the wrist contact, everyone is so neck and back these days... -

Wed, September 16, 2009 - 1:20 AMNick,
Thank you so much for the feedback. Here is an impromptu spin at a friends wedding reception. I'd like to know what you think. I've worked on the shoulder contact and will be spending my practice time working on the rest. I just started working on it, so the flow and capability is coming along soon. :)
