New flow staff - anyone used?

topic posted Thu, February 28, 2008 - 12:00 PM by  Robert
So I remember a thread a while back on LED staffs, and that there really weren't any non-custom ones on the market terribly great for contact.

I was cruising Flowtoys and noticed they have a new six-light staff. I was wondering if anyone had tried these, or if there was anything else out there good for contact?

i just got the 6 light staff - tho i only have four lights and two flow shells in there right now. i used the lights i already had for poi , planning on buying two new lights very soon - anyway..

    i LOVE it

it feels great - flows really nicely, its a little light for contact, imo, but they sell flow mass that adds weight onto the ends.

    enjoy! :)

I have mine all picked out, just waiting for some extra cash. It's gonna be 5.5' with 2 lights on each side and the flow mass. and i was thinking, it comes with those rubber covers too right? have you thought about addind washers to the inside of that for some extra weight? It doesn't come with grip right?

I ordered a pair of four-footers, six lights + mass, four doubles work. (I'm counting on summer shows to pay them off... /twitch).

I like that idea, I'll see if I can come up with any other mod points when they get here.

Sean and Prisna are both super talented spinners. This means they really get what makes a tool move properly. You can pretty much count on
anything they build being top shelf.

So it the staffs came in. The end weight is perfect for contact, it's more the mid section (where there are no lights) that's very light; the staff can feel a bit bendy as well. Neither of these is a huge problem, but I think both might be helped by adding grip tape.
