Wed, December 3, 2008 - 8:17 PMYeah, except you should never buy anything from passe passe. You should go straight to Gora. -

Re: hmm
Wed, December 3, 2008 - 10:59 PMthe extended arms lower the center of gravity, helping it "stick" (pun intended) to you.
But don't drop it?
That lets me out.

Re: hmm
Thu, December 4, 2008 - 6:39 AMIf you search for FireDrums vids, you may see one of these in play. There was a gal there that was spinning one of these. Was interesting to watch, she was a great performer.
Peace,

Thu, December 4, 2008 - 8:14 AMWell that's interesting..
I wonder if one could be made with flexible spines like hoops:-p not sure if it would mess up the effect though..

Re: hmm
Thu, December 4, 2008 - 9:11 AMdoes it make moves like the steve easier by slowing the rolling speed? -
-
Re: hmm
Thu, December 4, 2008 - 3:24 PMno the steve is quite hard to do, if you get it rolling, it won't want to change its direction of rolling. That's why Gora uses lots of minimal steves and such like. Also it doesn't want to roll too much, so headspins are easier. And obviously once it is spinning, spinning object are more stable, as physics tells us, so globetrotter rolls are much easier to balance. etc etc etc...
This all applies to solid spine's onna staff. Not to flexible ones, like the girl at FB had. -

Thu, January 22, 2009 - 6:32 PMThese guys were at the EJC...Gora makes some interesting fire props, and there were two females that performed with him, one of which (I think the more petite one) seems to be a very skilled gymnast. Nice...

Re: hmm
Sat, September 12, 2009 - 5:15 PMI was lucky enough to meet gora in person at burning man and this prop blew my mind away. now it's time to hit him up at gora.hu and get one of these.
it's strange. more "contact juggling" sort of staff moves look better than the usual vertical and horizontal spirals (which still look great with this, just more "roll around the body") looks amazing.
