So I sent this email out, but somehow yahoo addresses bounced it, even after I tried to send to each one individually...

So I thought I'd just make it public for anyone who needs it:

Hello fearless cast and crew of Global Infusion II!

The day is fast approaching and I wanted to update all of you about the latest developments and details for the day of the show.

**Performer info**

All dancers please arrive at the venue NO LATER than 8pm. There is a small backstage changing area, but I would recommend arriving in full costume and makeup. The performance schedule is as follows:

8:30 Tribalation!
8:45 Amy Peccia
8:55 Unmata
9:15 Sabine
9:25 -10:15 Guerrilla Tribal w/ DJ Layla into open dancing
10:15 - 11:30 - Lady Ra
11:30 - 12:45 - Dr. Israel
12:45 - 2:00 - DJ Amar with special guest Freyja

All dancers and DJs will be paid. Contact me privately if you would like to know your specific rates, which are set relatively low to make sure as much money goes to our fundraising purpose as possible. Each dancer will also get a guest in free to the show, but a small donation is suggested.

**Volunteer info**

The day of the show, we will have access to the gallery space at 11:00 am, but for volunteers interested in helping with decor and altars please arrive at 12:00 to give us some time to set up the stage and sound configuration. The Decor/ altar crew can contact me directly to help out, or just show up. You contributions of tapestries, altar items or other pretties are much appreciated, but remember that this is a party, and although most people can be counted on to be courteous, I make no guarantees on the safety of your objects due to my lack of control of other people's actions (I'm working on that though...) Think of it like a mini burning man, if you aren't comfortable losing it, don't bring it!

We have a volunteer coordinator who has graciously donated her services to organize door, security, and cleanup personnel. You can contact Kari to volunteer for any of these functions at 541-607-9576

**Fun Stuff!**

Well the whole show will be fun, right? Well its just the beginning...

Tom, our visuals guy is graciously opening his home for an after party since our even ends relatively "early" at 2am, so anyone who wants to keep on dancin' is welcome there.. I'll let him chime in with details!

On Sunday Feb 4, we are inviting all of the cast and crew to the McNail- Riley House on 13th and Jefferson (right across from the fairgrounds entrance) for a Middle Eastern style Mezza brunch and hafla (live music, low key bellydance party) and yes I'll bring my famous super garlic hummus this time along with other yummy munchies that will be served buffet-potluck style. This will be a nice chance to hang out and talk about how great the show was the night before. This gathering will flow from 1:30 to 4:30.

**Promotion**

Please, by all means, tell your friends, spam your tribe/ myspace/ nwtekno/ etc. so that everyone knows what an awesome show we've got planned!

Here is a pre-made email to pass around please feel free to edit at will for your audience:

I'm very happy to announce that Global Infusion II is back on for Saturday February 3 and I am co-producing the event with Chris Richards from Origins music (www.originsmusic.com) who is adding a whole new element to the production. The show is now slated to take place at the Fenario Gallery downtown and will include speakers and events starting in the afternoon and benefiting the Dharmalaya center (www.dharmalaya.org) which is at risk of being closed due to zoning issues. Chris is now working on finalizing booking Dr. Israel for our show, as well as planning a dinner. The show will also be able to go a bit later at night, until 3 am, so our dancing feet are sure to get a workout!

My part of the show will be to plan and facilitate the evening show, which will be essentially the same program as Global Infusion II, minus the Bijou Project who have already told me that they will not be able to make it. But joining our lineup will be DJ Amar from Oakland, CA. Due to all the great musical talent we have, I am still going to keep the number of dance performers the same, but all tribal dancers are invited to perform as Guerrilla Tribal. I'm also working on rescheduling the workshop with Unmata for earlier that saturday.

Thanks so much for your interest in participating or helping with the show. I'll be requesting volunteer help with a variety of tasks as the date draws nearer and we are more clear on what help we will need.
I'd like to thank everyone who has come forth and offered to volunteer their time towards making this a great event, and let you all know that it will happen, just not December 1st and 2nd. I will be talking to everyone involved and trying to find a date in early 2007 that will work for most of the performers involved with the show so that I can still bring you these amazing artists as well as workshops at a future date.
Thanks again to all who showed their support and I'll update you all when I know more about possibly rescheduling the show and workshops.
I've already gotten some great responses from people willing to help out and I'm so happy the interst is out there!

This is an official call to those of you out in Tribe land for volunteer help the day of hte show.

Mostly we need decorators (and decorations, including fabrics and tapeseries that we can use for ambience), but we also need people to work door shifts (checking hand stamps, collecting money and tickets), need someone as a stage manager/ dancer coordinator, and I'm sure I'll think of a few other tasks as the date draws near.

Before the show, I can always use help distrubuting fliers and postering.

Thanks in advance to all who are interested, and if you can volunteer a couple hours time, I'm happy to let you in the show for free!

And Saturday December 2nd - 2 great workshops featuring Unmata:

11-12:30- Hot Pot Tribal Fusion

This workshop presents two original tribal style combinations developed by Amy Sigil at Hot Pot Studio in Sacramento, home of UNMATA. Both combinations will include a complete movement and timing breakdown, guidance to nuance development, and ample drilling to engage
muscle memory.

Geared for improvisational dancers and troupes who depend on a cueing system when performing live, this course will include “transition-training” and lead-change practice. Each combo will begin and end in a tribal-friendly position so that it may be added to your preexisting vocabulary.

1-2:30 - Overlaying Isolations, Amy Sigil Style

Amy’s Art of Overlay is at the heart of this intermediate to advanced bellydance workshop aimed to add expressive layers and distinction to your dance style. Although controlled simultaneous movement is a complex idea, this class provides a simple approach certain to bring
impressive results.

Beginning with a thorough breakdown of basic isolation technique, Amy will expand such elements as core strength and relaxed tension, and then demonstrate helpful exercises that are necessary to develop an awareness needed to isolate key muscle groups. Then she will teach and drill an isolation combo that incorporates the artistic flare unique to Amy Sigil and UNMATA.

Because this class is designed for the intermediate to advanced dancer, a sufficient understanding of balance and timing is prerequisite.

$30 for each workshop or $55 for both ($60 day of workshop)
Upstart Crow Studios - 855 W 1st Ave, Eugene, OR

So I'm putting some energy out there to find a venue. Ideal would be an indoor space that is all ages that could accomidate fire performance and SambaJa where we could run the show until 2am and perhaps has a stage area for dance performance.

I talked to Tim today and I know that the Core Star is available to us. I was considering Cozmic Pizza, but I think I'm looking to keep it a bit more underground. Any other ideas for venues?

So I have pondered this kind of event for quite some time, and finally have the perfect time and motivation to make it happen!

The vision of the event is meant to be shared among many, but as a seed thought, I am visioning a night of Global Electronica, Drumming, Middle Eastern and Indian (and other international?) dancing. Perhaps a live music act as well as fire perrformance.

What I'm looking for is crew volunteers to help setup, decorate, work door shifts, but also to attend one or two meetings to help plan and contribute to this vision. We have the fabulous Mate on board to help coordinate things, and we have all your love to focus on getting Aris back home for a visit!

Any other ideas, volunteers to help with specific areas?

I had originally set the intention of the event to be a loveraiser to bring Aris home for Shasta Gathering. I just recieved word from him, however, that he will not be able to make it in early june due to passport issues, but he gives us his blessing to use this event to raise funds for "something speical" for Shasta Gathering. Mate is already on board as a consultant to help things run in fabulous fashion and I have some amazing talent coming north from SF.

I would still love anyone passionate about Shasta Gathering to volunteer to create something unique and fun for Eugene!

Much love to all!
