Hello all! I am new to the group but sooo happy to see that there is a group like this one!
My questions is what do you do to cover the rolls of skin on (the sides that go around to) the back? Is there anything out there that can camaflage this section? As I am short-waisted, this is even more of a challenge. If I drop a top down enough to cover that spot on my back, then there is no back showing between my top and my skirt/pants -- or is it just better to be completely covered? I would love to hear your opinions. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Re: Back cover
Wed, June 25, 2008 - 8:19 AMHi Hesperis and welcome to the tribe! The roll is part of you....and unless You are uncomfortable with it you don't have to cover it. There are many discussions on this tribe and the other BBBD tribes and even with the thin dancers, about covering parts of their bodies they are not happy with.
I personally don't like my upper arms so I always wear something to cover them. Many times that includes a shrug which also covers my back. You can make one of these and make it a little wider so that it hangs lower in the back but still gives a peek of the skin when you dance. Even if you wear something that totally covers the mid section you will most likely still have a crease where the skin folds unless you make something loose fitting. It really depends on what you are comfortable with.

Re: Back cover
Wed, June 25, 2008 - 1:44 PMHi Hesperis,
You can wear a flesh-covered body stocking, which will help camoflage by smoothing out that section. You can order bodystockings at www.sugarpetals.com, www.redhotdancer.com, www.designsbyjamie.com or www.welovecolors.com.

Fri, July 4, 2008 - 8:02 PMThank you for the links. I thought you might want to know that "designs by jamie" is a graphic art site that did not have any dance wear. "We love colors" did not have any body stockings, only leotards. And "red hot dancer" has error in their e-mail address. "Sugar petals" is a possiblity. I only point out the problems with the other sites just in case it was a link error. I really do appreciate you help!

Fri, July 4, 2008 - 10:05 AMBody Stockings work, my Style B covers the back and sides & Style C also has sleeves. Please feel free to take a look at the pictures at www.designsbyjanie.com click on Body Stockings. I also have Beledi dresses made out of stretch lace and similar fabrics, that will be another way of covering. The dresses will be on the web site soon. -

Re: Back cover
Fri, July 4, 2008 - 2:40 PMHi I never thought about the fat rolls on the back.
until a friend made a comment about how she hated to see it.
After she had gone I ran to look in the mirror and was starting to get upset about it.
Then the light bulb went on and laughed to myself .
Well I couldn't see it and didn't notice before so why worry. L0L
