We are pleased to announce that we are going through the final bits of recording and editing before we send our tracks off to be mastered and mass-produced! Hopefully we will have the LP ready to sell sometime in April.

We are very grateful to those of you who have prepaid the LP for being so patient with us. We really tried to get this thing finished this winter, and we apologize that this didn't happen--we want to provide you with the best possible recordings, so instead of rushing the album out we decided to postpone it.
That being said, we are VERY pleased with the results so far and will be delivering to you a professional product.

Once we release the album we will be putting together a CD release party and will be available for touring around later this year.
If you are putting together a bellydance workshop weekend somewhere and want a great live band drop us a line!!!

Another bulletin will be sent out the day we send the tracks out with a more precice release date!

Troupe Shuvani is proud to host Mia Donna & The Sistars of Boombah in a tribal fusion workshop
Sunday Feb. 3, 2008 at the Paul Moore/Sapphire Studio
5:15- 7:15 p.m.
$ 25 pre- pay $30 at the door
Contact Crimson @ 928.220.1098 for more details!

The *SiStars of the BoomBah* express a new form of Tribal Fusion. Belly
Dance now comes "Unboxed"!

Belly Dance is let out of the box in this workshop, taking traditional
movement and learning how to flow it through the body continuously. We
will drill basic technique and add on an interesting layer of transition
to snake throughout the body. We will do this by taking pieces of moves
and connecting them with other moves to make a whole new dance language.
We will focus on breaking and connecting layers of movement and learn a
short choreography.

About the Instructor:
Mia Donna was born in Ohio and raised on horseback. She spent her young
life rescuing and rehabilitating horses and working with Mustangs
brought into captivity. When she started college in 1999, she was
quickly drawn into the dance program and began studying African and
Modern technique. In 2001, Mia Donna became interested in Belly Dance
and set out for a teacher. She found three and studied intensely
through advanced level technique, teacher training, dance as a holistic
practice and performance etiquette. Through her college studies, she
was able to complete an intensive research project on the origin,
history and development of Belly Dance and create a fitness program in
dance. Today, Mia Donna is an active teacher in traditional cabaret,
tribal, aerobic, and her own style of Belly Dance, Liquid Fusion Break
Beat. She performs with Troupe Gypsy Soul out of Ohio and the
experimental dance project named Star Kids. Now living in Sedona, she
is directing her new Troupe, rightfully named *SiStars of the BoomBah*.
Mia Donna continues her love of dance by continuing to study new forms
of movement expression. Currently, she is studying cardio hip hop and
jazz funk to expand her movement language.

Yep, it’s that time – the Domba Studio is closing (unless there is someone interested in purchasing this amazing Studio?....... if so, contact me asap!)

Unfortunately for the Studio, I no longer have the time and energy resources needed to run it, so we will be closing our doors after nearly 4 fun-filled years of Dance and Music. It’s been a fantastic time and I’m so happy to have had the support and talent of all the people who really made the Studio feel like home. Big thanks to all of Domba and Bedouin Tribe, our most amazing instructors past and present, and of course, all the students who have come through our doors, become our friends and made us smile!

Our last day of classes is Saturday April 22, and please join us for our end-of-studio-celebration Sunday matinee on April 23, from 12-6pm. We’ll have performances by pretty much EVERYONE from 2-5pm, plus food, fun and a HUGE sale on everything in the studio – including furniture and decorations! If you’ve had your eye on something, this is your chance to get it.

If you’d like to perform for our last hurrah, please email me asap as spaces are limited! Solos must be 4 mins or less and groups can be 6 minutes.

Students with class cards: all cards will expire as of April 23, so use them up! Sorry – there are no refunds for unused cards.

Class cards with 6 or more classes left can be used for either classes or store merchandise.

Class cards with 5 or less classes left can be used for classes at the studio only (not for merchandise)

All Semester Cards expire as of April 22, 2006.

Sorry, after April 23, there are absolutely NO refunds or credits for ANY class cards, as the Studio will no longer be open for business.

Many of our Domba Studio instructors are planning on teaching at other locations, so please contact them if you’re interested in continuing classes. Domba and Bedouin Tribe will remain performance troupes, and I will also continue with Tribal BellyDance Costuming, but only off our site at www.domba.com or at events (such as the AZ Renaissance Faire), so keep an eye on the site for upcoming shows!

Thanks again to all of you for the amazing amount of support and love that went into the Studio – it has been incredible to see the dream become reality with the help of so many people…….we really are such a fabulous community of dancers and musicians and I hope to see you all around soon!
What did it bring you?

Personnally I learned swing dance ( from jive to lindy hop), jazz, tango, flamenco, gypsy fusion,
add candle dance, swords...
I'm interested in learning hip hop...

I know swing dance learned me how to listen to music,
and how to follow and lead.
Tribal after that was a peace of cake.
;-p
Since I want to add more punch in my style (and I'm not into gypsy fusion anymore),
Any1 who is a beginning bd'er or lives in an area that doesn;t have immediate teachers avaiable in their area should definitely think of buying Carrie's THE DANCE-especially Volume 1, which gives in 1:20 a better instructing and tutorial guide than most multi-week classes offered by teachers in-person. Although live classes are an asset, what you can learn on your own spare time is also equally essential, and carrie's Vol1 is one of the more UNDERrated bd videos ever made.

She should do the bd world a favor and think of releasing a performance video/DVD before the end of 2005, and put all of her teachings together in a visual perormance. It would do the bd world and video market a huge favor. :)

After all, how many bd'ers you know today that has all of her synchronizations down well and has such a slim, toned physique as her right now? (Famous for her up-out-down-in tbellyroll technique, her abs are so tight, you can drive a truck over them and she wouldn;t feel a thing...she THAT strong!)

Anyhooo, GET this video/dvd NOW. You'll thank yourself for it.
