Psykias full on killer sound is a liquid of, hypnotic psychedelic beats, driving bass lines and tingling melodies that draw you into what ever journey Psykia takes you on.

Her progressive set is ideal during the day, and reflects her sunny and dynamic personality. After a full power season in Goa Psykia is ready with her second project which is an acid but not too hard psy trance set with many influences from the progressive sound, ideal for the sunrise of a "jungle party".

Completely involved in the Trance culture, she is currently publishing an anthropological research on the Goa Trance movement for the Roman University "La Sapienza", whose title is "Trancefloor: an ethnographic study about the sound scapes of dancing souls."

Papa Kuma-Tamashii "Mushroom Online Producer Contest"

Hi Everyone,
I have made my special brand of Psytrance and have entered a track of mine into the Mushroom Magazine Producer Contest. Online voting is now taking place and it will go til the 23rd of March so, please vote for my track!!! It is a Fullon Morning Psytrance track, I go as Papa Kuma and the name of my track is Tamashii (which means "spirit" or "soul" in Japanese). Opening soon on Venables & Commercial is the 13th CHAIN store from TEXAS, THE LOVE REVOLUTION. Selling water pipes, growing supplies and accessories. ALL of their inventory is NON-LOCAL, bought and shipped internationally.

These three business men from Austin, Texas told their new employees that IF THEY WERE TO TELL anyone in the Vancouver / Commercial Drive community that they were NOT A LOCAL starting up business that they would be instantly terminated from their job.

They also mentioned that they were only in Vancouver to set up the store then leave back to the states.

A friend of mine was recently employed to become apart of their team, not knowing the owners intentions within the store and community.

That person attended the first staff meeting on a Saturday night, The boss gave them all a book stating the costumer service intentions of the chain. He also mentioned that they wouldn't be meeting again until mid November to start working. The next morning, My friend got a call (Sunday) at around 11am. He mentioned that there is a staff meeting at 6:30 that night. She said alright, and asked what they would be doing. He said "Why does it matter?, It's a suprise." They didn't even give their employees even 24 hours notice!
So she went to the staff meeting, when she got there one of the business men said "We're taking all the shelves and lining them, here are some scissors." He didn't explain how to do it and one of the other business men in the company was standing around doing his own thing. Everyone looked at each other in awkwardness, thinking it went from a 'meeting' to hours of work on a Sunday night? Everyone got to work, trying to figure out how to line the shelves. My friend read everyone's faces and spoke up.
She said that first off it was Sunday and calling your employees in without even 12 hours notice to a 'meeting' was very unprofessional. And that everyone expected to be there for only a half hour or so and that they were not prepared to work. About an hour later, the boss shows up, The 'Big Man' aka leader of the company. He doesn't even say hi before he looks at the shelves and say's "That's disgusting! Take all that liner off!"

My friend looked around in disgust at the organization of the evening. She went up to the boss and said "May I speak with your privately?" He said "For sure, let's go outside"
They went out side and she goes "Sir, I enjoy the opportunity of being apart of this company however, I think that the way this evening was organized was very unprofessional and I would prefer to be called 24 hours prior to meeting."

He gave her a nasty look and said "Do you want to work here?"
She said "Yes but, I would like to be told what were are doing instead of a 'Surprise'. That's very unfair, I have family waiting to eat dinner with me at home and If I knew that you wanted us to help with setting up the store I would have eaten before hand as well as come more prepared to do so."
He said again "Do you want to work here?"
She said "Yes."
He said "This is a communication problem, YOU DIDN'T ask how long we were going to be here this evening."
She replied "I asked you over the phone earlier today what we would be doing this evening and you said why? it's a suprise?"
He replied "It doesn't matter what we're doing!"
She said "Well I didn't come here to line shelves, I'm hired as an employee when the store opens."
He replied back "You guys were not supposed to do shelves, plus they were the wrong ones anyway."
Then she said "Well, maybe that's a communication error between you and your colleagues, isn't it? I have to go home for dinner now."

When she came back in the room everyone was looking and curious to as what had happened. Considering my friend was the only person to step up about the situation, she swallowed her pride and went back into the room, saying nothing. The vibe was gross and the boss let her go home for dinner.

The next day she recieved a phone call from him saying that they would no longer be needing her to be apart of her company. Saying it was schedule issues, which is a crock of shit.

It's really unfortunate that these Americans get away with treating local citizens like shit.

DON'T LET INCONSIDERATE AMERICAN OR EVEN CANADIAN BUSINESSES FUCK YOU OVER.
FIGHT FOR YOUR RIGHT AND KEEP DOING SO UNTIL THEY GET THE FACT THAT WE ARE NOT SLAVES TO THEIR MONEY BAGS.

I've lived in the Commercial Drive community since I was 17 years old. I have met tons of shop owners including friends and family with nothing but positive intentions within their stores and the community.

It is OUR responsibility to keep our community positive, and know who's coming in and out of it. I know i'm not going to buy a over priced, factory made bong from china to help contribute to these money driven Texan business men. ALL it is to them is another house to buy.

Why support these liars when you can go down to The Amsterdam cafe downtown and support Local Glass blowers & artists.

Slum Slum has been started by Shuji from Japan, one of the members of "Phi"(2001-2004) who appeared 2004, acted as their pleases and now are on indefinite break. So Shuji begins again carrying his own project "Slum" with thirst and desire for music.
Slum’s debut album "Make Rainbow In Your Slum" came out in January 2006. presented new sounds and the album was charted in the top 10 of dance/club music selling chart at major CD stores in Japan. The album also made worldwide success and still keep having wonderful sales as an Japanese-made trance album. With having the album, SLUM aka PHI did a tour in Europe and was praised highly in Portugal, Austria, Hungary, Czech, and former Yugoslavia , and thai Australia. SLUM is often invited to big festivals- Summer Arcade in Japan, Earthcore Global Carnival in Australia etc. and Old hippies Commune etc almost every week.

Protesters in Boston, Vancouver, Toronto, Calgary, Ottawa, Germany, Italy, Mysore, New Delhi, Chennai, Buffalo, Chile, Vienna, Israel, Denmark, Lithuania, Norway, Chicago, Bangkok, Seoul, New York, Sydney, London, San Francisco, Minnesota, Barcelona, Munich, Belgium, Taiwan, Paris, and even a vigil was held in Beijing. Unprecedented numbers of peace marchers, hunger strikes, vigils and protests in front of Chinese Embassies worldwide is surely not what the Communist Chinese Government had intended when they made the decision to 'crackdown' on Tibetans. One report even states that Tibetan protesters were gunned down in broad daylight in the streets of Lhasa. The Israeli parliament held a discussion about "the Genocide in Tibet".

Maybe the world is asking China to have compassion if they want to have their 'precious' Olympic Games if you read in between the lines. Several top athletes have already threatened to boycott the games and Beijing can't even promise clean air for them! I hope for a quick end to the utter stupidity and arrogance of the Chinese Authority in regards to the complete brutalization of any sense of the term 'human rights' amidst this 'crackdown' on autonomy ...

No trance in Vancouver.

So after a few months of constant festival performances I have concluded that Vancouver is lame. Since Mile 36 is no more - trance - or at least trance festivals - are a thing of the past in Vancouver. There has not been a single festival this entire summer that has not required at least a 6 hour drive to get to - and even then it is not full on trance.. I took 3 boats to get to Diversity and there were only 3 scedualed trance DJs after 4 days of Reggae. It was a fun festival and I had a blast - but the point is - is there anything left for the full on Trance Dancers or do I have keep going to Montreal or Edmonton to get my fix? Entheos was fun as well - but no full on - and it was primarily a workshop venue... no music for at least half the party - so we could learn.... um.... stuff... Is there something I have missed or is the Vancouver scene over? Am I like a bad kickback to the 90's? Like those rockers who swear metal will never die, and perhaps it has.... perhaps.

GODIZUS intensive introductory audio engineering workshops ~ for the sisters ~
coming soon "fall of 2007" ~ I will be contacting all sisters regarding the booked dates and availibilities~

There will be 2 intensive introductories group workshops::
each group workshop is designed for "5 to 10 sisters" at a time ~

Cost:
$0 for the godizus collective sisters (includes an organic meal for each sister)

The first session will be taking place in the next month or so. Date is to be confirmed.

The second session will be taking place sometimes around the date of our next upcoming event "PSY DOLLS ~ featuring 15 sisters with 2 stages". (PSY DOLLS date will be confirmed by the end of next week). The second session is put together to have our international sisters joining us in the group workshop.

Please stay tuned for the 2 workshops confirmed dates and detailed info.

The software will be cubase sx, ableton, reaktor plus a number of other VST plugins.

I am offering ride space for up to 4 people to travel to Godizus. I will be leaving East Vancouver around 6 pm on Saturday and returning Monday afternoon.

Faxi Nadu introduction to the Godizus gang! See you on the dancefloor...

Hi people!

I am excited to introduce myself to the Godizus folks.

My name is Yaron, I produce psytrance under the alias Faxi Nadu. I am also the curator of a mp3 netlabel called Postunder Records that deals in all sorts of elctronic music.

Ganika and I have become friends online, and we are proud to say I will be coming to the Godizus Fest and performing my acts for you lot :D

This is an especially exciiting time for me, as a nuber of tracks are about to apear on upcoming va releases, and the festival will be just in time for the release of my new solo album, and I am hoping to rock you with the new tunes!

My style is a mixture of various psytrance influences - fullon basslines, dark sounds, prog arranges... with the vibes crossing over from nightime to twilightish.

There will be both Faxi Nadu and Elmooht (my dark ambient side project) acts!

Starting on my Path of Music

Hello And Greetings,

Well Figured I would start here I'm just getting into hmm I suppose its mixing and I've absolutely fallen in love with it I find it just the perfect release for myself. Now I'm personally a laptop DJ because thats what I'm really comfortable with. Now I was wondering I've been doing it for several months now just on my own and I see the progress but I was wondering is there a place where I might share my mixes? I'd love to see what people who love Psy and Trance think of it as thats where my passion lies as with perhaps tips people might be able to give me. Also I just want to become more involved in the community as I love the people and Artists in it... What can I say :)

New Arahat Live/DJ set - Soul of the Peacefull Warrior - Discs 1 & 2 - Plus my archive

Hello everybody, I recorded a new mix at home in my studio not too long ago. Its titled "Soul of the Peacefull Warrior", Disc 1 and 2. I mixed straight through for 2 1/2 hours, then split it into 2 CD's.

It was mixed using M-Audio's Torq dj software and recorded 24 bit to Soundforge, then mastered in Cubase SX. I used two Pioneer CDJ-800's going into an Ecler mixer to control the tunes in the software using the Timecode discs, with the tables set to Vinyl Mode.

I just uploaded it to my friends server along with a bunch of my older mix sets from the last few years. Included is a mastered version of my New Years Eve set from this last year split it into Three, 1-hour files. There's a breaks mix, a Radio station appearance, as well as my fav's from 05.

Thanks for reading and listening, I hope you enjoy at least one of the mixes. Please post any comments whether positive or negative, constructive criticism never hurt anybody.

Nevada is a wonderful state, full of diverse and widely varying climates and ecosystems. It may look like a barren, scrub-filled waste, but get a little closer to the ground, and you'll see there's much more to it than is immediately apparent. Pinion pine and juniper forests fill the high canyons, sage and rabbit brush gather as much water as they can, wherever they can. Wild horses, remnants of America's colonial and expansionist past, roam the land, which is cared for by the well meaning but bureaucratic BLM. Antelope and mule deer run free among the mountains and sage. Mankind has its place out here too, in ranch-land and mining claim, and the little towns, remnants of the old West that was, still holding onto their little pieces of the Great Basin. From the flat, lifeless, alien Black Rock playa, to Wheeler Peak, which holds the oldest known living things on the planet, the Bristlecone pines, to Lehman Caves carved from limestone over millions of years, the Ichthyosaur fossils of Great Basin National Park, this state is full of history, pre and post colonial. Its only fitting, then, that we should bring one of the oldest rituals, reupdated of course, to this vast, wide open land!

In more modern times, Nevada was quite the hot-bed of political attention. Famous, of course, for more than 1,000 nuclear explosions above ground, during the 1950s. Famous as well, for another product of the Cold War paranoia, Area 51. No secret any more, though, you do have to have special (And I mean SPECIAL) clearance to even get within sight of the place. There are signs, warning, that if you continue on, the guards are authorized to use deadly force to prevent your incursion. And lately, the source of controversy when Bush gave the go-ahead to stash nuclear waste at Yucca Mountain, supposedly an isolated and remote place, the truth, though, is that the 'local' water table of Yucca Mountain sits atop a much larger aquifer. The only thing keeping the contaminated (or potentially contaminated) water from poisoning most of the Southwestern US is a shaky, thin fault. If that were to break, then, well, Vegas and LA wouldn't be drawing quite so many visitors, for one...

Reno is enjoying the crest of a wave of interest in electronic music, more parties are being thrown of all genres, 2 clubs have regular and well done nights, promotion is professional, people are friendly, smiles abound! So, its time to strike while the iron is hot, and have our own little shindig in the desert. Reno has one thing missing: PSYTRANCE!! So, that's what I, with the help of all the rest involved, are hoping to solve! We're planning a Nuclear Fishin' trip, out to the riverbank of the psyche, dropping in the lures of curiosity, hoping to pull out a big lunker of an experience!

A good variety of styles will be represented, no boredom allowed here! We'll start out in a more full-on vibe, cranking up the intensity at midnight, unfurling all the sails, cranking all the motors, til the morning, and the lighter vibes that speak so well to the daytime, evening out in mid afternoon to slower, mellower progressive moods. After that, well, we'll see, won't we?

I have heard that it went rather well and I'm very glad to hear that. :) Very much wishing you all the best from out on the road here in Belgium, and looking forward to meeting all of you in July when I come to Vancouver. Also, I think that I will try to come a week before the party, so that I can hold a special production workshop for you guys. This workshop will focus more on sound design and song arrangement than the basics of the programs, since you guys are already holding workshops. If anyone is really interested in this, please let me know otherwise I'll just teach anyone who wants to spend an afternoon learning how to make wierd sounds.

Most of you know that main Triplag server has a very limmited number of connection slots, only 20.

Today I was pleasantly shocked to discover that someone has set-up Triplag relay server for 1024 listeners!

I have no idea who did that and for how long it is gonna last. I only know that this comes from my home land (IP address is registered in Russian Federation) and it is broadcasting since 20th of April 2007.

Greetings to all ~

After a few days of silence and meditation went through until 2 days ago this past wed. ~

Godizus "DEBUT" went amazing where it took place at ENTARAS dec 9th event ~ deepest thank yous to all who part of this sacred psy night ~ dec 9 2006 ~

here is the story ~

I was unable to manage getting our sister "Mistress Jade" to join our Godizus debut right at the last moment ~ Due to financial stuff, the ticket from NY to Vancouver was to be bought just couple of days prior to the debut ~ here we go the ticket fare had doubled which reached $720 US +... due to seasons.... (mistress jade had already booked 2 days off from work just to join the debut)
hmmmmmmmmm ~ that touched me and mistress jade very much ~ tried for couple of days until the day of the event no luck to find any cheaper fares or no luck to get financially advanced ~

Here we go ~ Godizus first "EVENT" is planned to take place sometimes in Feb or March 2007 ~ where all sisters are involved in making our first first event as one ~ from production ~ deco ~ promo ~ venu ~ sound system ~ visuals ~ the whole work :) ~ most of the event will be ALL about the Godizus sisters first walk ~ and sharing our family love with ALL ~

Name of this event is "Mistress Jade" ~

We will also invite a few of our Vancouver artists DJs to spinn psytrance with us ~ just to spiced it up a bit :)))

A 2 day intensive introductory audio engineering workshop ~ by artist "Akhentek"

Artist "Akhentek" will be instructing a 2 day intensive introductory audio engineering workshop, once a month.

Students will get opportunity to work in both a group and an individual project.
The software used will be cubase sx, ableton, reaktor plus a number of other VST plugins.

Subjects include sampling, sequencing, midi, editing, synthesis and there will also be small group discussion focusing on topics from the dimensional musik teknowledgies workshop series.

The number of audio workstations in the studio limits the maximum attendance to 2 students, ensuring a more personal and focused learning environment. (preferably a one student at a time...)

Location: ilum studios, gibsons
(13 min bus ride from langdale ferry)

Cost:
$260 (includes accomodation and organic meals)

A friend of mine is opening a 5000 sq ft. studio in Vancouver this month and is planning on throwing a party. Sounds like a couple of bands will be playing followed be DJ's (myself and another fellow).

So I went to this killer party Saturday night. It was so freking suh-weet. The moment I walked in the door, the couple who were running the place dragged me into the kitchen for a few mandatory jagermeister-redbull shots (jagerbombs.) Never had them before, and I have to say I enjoyed them immensly. After about 10 or 11 jager-bombs, 5 or six beers, and a whole bunch of bong rips, someone puts on a cd of shitty dance music and everyone starts dancing around.
At that moment I'm like "What the hell is this shite music?" (crappy techno ish poop) Then I remember something important, but I can't quite pin it down...something I was supposed to do or something...crap I couldn't remember, so I just started dancing with this French girl. The whole room was packed and people were partying down hard. Then it hits me...my fucking decks and mixer are out in the car with a couple boxes of records. Holy moses...
I grab these two random dudes and tell them I need a hand with 'something'. We get out to my car and their eyes light up like 'holy shit, this is about to GO DOWN.' I bring in the gear and the room absolutely blows up at just the sight of these things. In about 15 minutes, we had the shit wired through their house system (which was pretty decent), and the place went ballistic. Started off with some funky shit, like Fort Knox 5, Lester, just good and funky. Slowly led into the breaks, and had the place rockin until the wee hours. Long live breaks! Once again, lots of people leaning over asking "What is this music?"
I can't say I've ever played that drunk before. Damn, I think I sweated out everything after about 15 minutes. Woot! Me Love partying!

I was playing a show with DJ Czech (Vancouver) and we were talking about genres, and people who dedicate their time to one particular genre. I have decided to ease off of playing breaks all the time and branch out.
I think the more different styles of music you play, the better you'll get, and the broader perspective you'll inherit. God forbid someone points a finger at me and says: "Oh he's a breaks DJ." I just want to be able to rock a party for anyone.
Not to mention it gets kind of boring listening to one style of music for too long (at least for me.)

Any thoughts on this subject?
