I love tribe and have been a gold star supporter since the program started. I don't like to whine, so this is more of a suggestion than a complaint.
The one thing I really want is for Tribe to be stable and always available (but brief downtimes in the middle of the night for maintenance are of course ok). I think Tribe is fine just the way it is... simple and straightforwad. I don't sit around wishing for new snazzy features. I use tribe as a secondary form of communication with my friends (second to email). I am really am happy with the basics and would rather see stability than new stuff.
So there you have it. I would love my monthly payment to go towards creating a simple and stable system that is always dependable.. that is really what is most important to me. I would guess there are a fair amount of other gold star folks who feel the same?
Thanks for Tribe!

Re: I Only Want *One* Thing
Fri, June 27, 2008 - 6:27 PMI agree with you. I could care less about Tribe Chat, RSS Feeds, linking to other social networks, etc. I really just use the basic functionality. Enhancements to those features, ie. Mark all read, sorting options for pictures would be nice but at the end of the day is the basic system with stability that I want. -

Re: I Only Want *One* Thing
Fri, June 27, 2008 - 6:29 PMand let it be said, that if the day comes when Tribe is going to go away (and I hope it doesn't come), PLEASE give us warning. We'll need ample time to get out pictures (many of which exist nowhere but on Tribe, get phone numbers and email addresses, etc. If Tribe goes away, I loose contact with a huge amount of people.

Re: I Only Want *One* Thing
Fri, June 27, 2008 - 6:35 PMHi Again,
Someone from the UK just reminded me that Tribe is international and that "the middle of the night" for me is during the day for many others around the planet. So I would like to make two corrections to my above post (I guess I can't edit it after people reply):
1> Occasional maintenance happens on all sites.. so Tribe being down once in awhile (like once a month?) for a few hours would be just fine... and perhaps it could be "night time" in a different time zone each time. It would also be nice to have advanced warning somehow (like my web host does for me).
2> I also want to point that that I am not against new fun features... new stuff is great. As long as it doesn't degrade the stability and access to what we already have. -

Re: I Only Want *One* Thing
Fri, June 27, 2008 - 7:47 PMI think its unanimous that we just want tribe as it is but stable

You can count on me...
Mon, June 30, 2008 - 10:57 AM...to be a dog in the manger, and want two things. Stability and the ability to ignore those I designate as idiots.
I'll be so glad when whatever equipment exchange thing that's been interferring with the first is done. And i can wait for the 2nd.

Re: I Only Want *One* Thing
Mon, June 30, 2008 - 9:34 AMI agree, too and I thought this is what my money was going towards when I agreed to pay tribe money monthly. I don't think I've gotten what I've paid for ie. site stability, and I have thought about downgrading my membership. The impression I get as a result of the outages is that tribe is unreliable, and I would prefer to communicate on a site that I can count on. That said, I really like and appreciate the community that tribe represents and would be very sad to see it go away, but as a result of the outages, more and more people I know have been leaving tribe and migrating to other community sites.
Like Bobzilla, I would definitely like a heads up if Tribe goes under and we need to get our data and connections in order. I think I will already start the process of saving my photos and blog entries elsewhere just in case. What can I say, I don't think I can fully trust that the site will provide what it has, but all the discussions in various tribes are irreplaceable really.....there's been a lot of shared knowledge especially in the environmental tribes. -

Re: I Only Want *One* Thing patience
Tue, July 1, 2008 - 6:27 PMright there with you....stability is what I want most. I'm paying for two folks to have stars...and I'm not NOT getting my money's worth. If there is not improvement in stability (I could care less about the other enhancements) I'll turn in my star and stop flushing my money away. It's just that simple. -

Wed, July 2, 2008 - 8:36 AMWell said -storm-
Stability,
stability,
stability.
Then if you have extra money and time add some bells and whistles. But even then, keep it stable.
I have a number of friends who are bailing. None of them are leaving tribe because of a lack of features. -

-
Re: I Only Want *One* Thing
Wed, July 2, 2008 - 7:49 PMReally, without stability, features are a big waste of time.
Writing new code is always more glamourous than chasing down problems. But, fact of the matter is that site is now routinely unavailable long enough to not be able to do anything tangible, if at all, because of constant timeouts, sometimes for many minutes at a time.
Features, I can't get at the site anyway. Why should I care about them? -

Fri, July 4, 2008 - 7:11 AMThis is highly controversial and debatable Sneaky. While these are three separate things they, as a combination, are one thing. An institution even. Inspiring the creation of many bumper stickers and t-shirts. And even some songs. : ) www.youtube.com/watch

Sat, July 5, 2008 - 3:32 PMCannibalism is more prevalent than most people realize and in the future will ( perhaps unfortunately ) become a commonplace survivalist reality. If I ever get to this place I think I'd prefer a breast or a thigh. KFM? KFC is too overpriced. People are cheaper than hormone pumped chicken? What?
Mmm. Tastes like chicken. Nuthin' like scientific perfuction of taste bud desirability. Can I get a rattlesnake shake with that? Rack of lamb perhaps? HA!!! -
