Johanna is a long-time friend and professional colleague of mine & Greywolf’s and she has done much for Florida’s Tribal Bellydance community over the years. We thought it would be awesome if GO PURE could support any of the following events to help her out.

As many of you may know by now, our dear dance sister Johanna was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. Our community is coming together to raise money for her medical expenses. Please come out and join us in raising some good vibes and cash to support her during this very trying time!

7pm - 10pm: St. Petersburg Nights Russian Restaurant & Lounge, 6800 Sunset Way, St. Pete Beach. $10 donation. Live music by Boris w/Sax, Flamenco music by Jeff and Xavier, Middle Eastern music by Jeff Lloyd, performances by some of Tampa Bay's Top Belly Dancers, Henna by Raihan, Raffle, Auction, and much more! Sun, August 12, 2007 - 6:13 PMOh yeah, I didn't mention, but Johanna has no health insurance. Like many self-employed people/dancers, she couldn't afford it and is now faced with having to undergo surgeries, chemo, etc without financial aid. If anyone would like to contribute financially, here is the address sent out in the Hip Expressions newsletter. (I hope this is ok with you Johanna - just trying to help and feeling kinda helpless this far away. )
