Of course that's if you're writing them in Japanese. In English, it needs to be 3 lines, with a stop at the end of one of them, and total number of syllables between 10 and 17. Google up if you need more rules.

Gothic means moody and deep. Better to paint a picture than describe a feeling. Allow the reader to feel what you are feeling on their own by sensing through your senses...
