The video is here, the video is here! When I was least expecting it, there it was! I had a great time watching it. It brought back the memories of a great event. Can't wait for next year! Thank you to the three Dark, Dangerous, and Deadly Gorgous Creatures that made this all happen. And obviously you got your message through....what a great family ;)~......Sweet!

Re: IT came!
Fri, May 2, 2008 - 8:47 AMGOOD NEWS: my DVD arrived; very cool to have the black & white thumbnail performance and nice graphics.
BAD NEWS: The audio and video are not synchronized. Audio is at least a second ahead of the video, which makes it look as though I screwed up my entire choreography. :(((((( Can anything be done about this? -

Re: IT came!
Fri, May 2, 2008 - 10:06 AMMines a little off too, but $20 is an outragously good price for a DVD. It's probably the best they could do with that amount. But, that is just MPO. Maybe one of the three deadly gorgous ladies would know more.

Re: IT came!
Wed, May 7, 2008 - 10:07 AMHow does one do that? I have never put a video on Youtube. -
-
Re: IT came!
Wed, May 7, 2008 - 10:58 AMWell, i ripped my performance off of my dvd with imovie... im not sure which programs other people use. -
-
Re: IT came!
Wed, May 7, 2008 - 1:43 PMonce you transfer the video to your hard drive (eep, i always have my partner do that!), then go to www.youtube.com/group/gothicbellydance and look for the link that says "add video" or something like that. you submit your video, and the group owner (that's me) has to approve it before it gets posted.
fear not, every video with those Gothla silver drapes in the background will be accepted! the submission approval is just to keep the spammers out (you wouldn't believe some of the crap that people try to get accepted--it's not even bellydance related).

Re: IT came!
Mon, May 12, 2008 - 3:30 PMI don't know how you gals do that? (get video on YouTube) The program I had said I had to much on my hard drive to capture the video. So I deleted a whole bunch of stuff, it took me a long time to get all my pic's on CD's etc. Still didn't have enough room. It was only a 3 min. song, how much space could it need?
One thing though, my DVD when on the menu, it will not play when I hit play. If I hit stop (and my DVD player say; resume playing by pushing play) so I push play and it plays. But that is the only way I can get it to play. Do you think this might have something to do with it? -
-
Re: IT came!
Fri, May 16, 2008 - 6:11 AMyou must have a small hard drive capacity since, considering all the files are uncompressed when you rip them to your drive, it could take up to 8gb of space (considering that the biggest capacity dvd available is 8gig) however, if it was only a 3 minute performance then you would be looking at about, with video (depending on quality and format) around 100 - 300mb of data... :)
also... it sounds that with everyone elses experiences with their dvd's and various issues could be because the dvd's were burned with a computer and sometimes they will have problems, ie: in some cases, they will not behave like normal dvd's in your players (pooter or standard) and, of course, every dvd player is different... ;)
so, your thing regarding the stopping and resuming of play on your dvd could be one of a few things... :)

Re: IT came!
Fri, May 16, 2008 - 12:22 PMI emailed him too, and got a return mailer, saying it could not be delivered. I got it right off the website listed above. There does not seem to be any movement on that website as well. No more loading of video's anymore. I can't get my DVD to play in my player unless I hit stop on the main menu and then play, but it won't work on anybody elses DVD player that I have tried. I just want a DVD that I can show my friends. Does anyone know what gives? I want another copy that plays correctly, I wouldn't mind paying again, although I don't think that's good business, but neither is this so I'll pay more to get one that works. -

Re: IT came!
Sat, May 17, 2008 - 12:19 AMI don't even receive an answer when I write to him. He promised me, two months ago, that he'd get me my -flv file for uploading, but til now: nothing. I can't imagine what's taking this long. I really hope they didn't pay him yet, but I guess it's been done already... It's so annoying when you're not supposed to tape the stuff yourself, they say someone else will do that and get you your clip, and then this, or nothing actually, happens, even though we paid. Don't like this at all. -
-
Re: IT came!
Sun, May 18, 2008 - 8:11 AMCallisto, Ryan was an independent vendor, NOT paid by Gothla.
We will definitely have a different videographer next year and are changing our video policy.
I've just got the raw footage and can have my husband capture your video from it when I get back from TF8. -

Re: IT came!
Sun, May 18, 2008 - 1:28 PMTempest,
I know he wasn't one of your "crew" in that manner. I just thought you collected the money for him and then at some point paid him for his efforts. Perhaps I wasn't clear on that point, I know you organizers had nothing to do with his work, nor the delays. I'm not blaming you, just wondering if anyone's heard anything about the last DVD:s,
You are a real darling if you get me my clip. No rush, just so I know I'll have it sometime this year. See, now you made me smile again. :)
