I probably shouldn't be posting right now considering:
-I got maybe 3 hours of sleep last night, and less than 10 collectively over the last several days...
-I'm on the wi-fi in Pittsburgh waiting for my plane to Philly and barely functioning
but what the hell...
I just wanted to thank you ALL...I'm just amazed, in shock, stunned, and in awe.
We spent over a year planning this event, and the last few months have been intense getting it all together, and as an event producer, you just never know what will happen the day of...what will be the final moment of truth?
We couldn't have hoped for better....we had fabulous performers, teachers, vendors, volunteers, and an enthusiastic crowd all weekend long.
I was so happy to finally get to meet many of you in person for the first time, and see old friends from TX, NY, DC, MO, CA, WA, NM, IN, all the way to Sweden.
Just wow...thank you, thank you for being a part of it...and you can bet your dark little booties, there will be more...

I especially enjoyed that it was a smaller festival, so that I could spend a little more time chatting with dancers who I might not otherwise get to know or spend time with at larger fests. I can't wait until next year!
Oh yeah... and now I have a tiny Tempest hat and a new corset belt! Mwahahaha!

I'm starting to save money/rob banks already so I can be here in 2009. Sashi promised us it'd be worth coming over from behind the big sea (where there be dragons... moah) for this. If you didn't stay for the reptilian session....bwahahahahha, you missed, lessee, intelligence, earthiness, sex and some of us laying Ashara to rest. -

I was breathless at the profound ammount of creativity all on one spot in that hall on Saturday, the dancing, costuming AND the vendors. It was a truly beautiful and genuine event. Gothic Belly Dance needs this. You ladies have re-estblished my enthusiasm for Gothyic Belly Dancing. Yay! I met such fun beauties! Was inspired and got the chance to inspire. I hope I keep intouch with all the great women and men I got to get to know a bit over the weekend.
You, I looked around at one point, and had to giggle to myself - all these spooky girls running around SMILING, GIGGLEING and eating cookies! haHA!
Next year I promise no Sangria debacle. I can't wait!
Notes from my workshop are coming, I promise. As soon as I unpack and find them! -

It was what I needed to get my heart and soul back into dance. You guys have no idea how helpful every single one of you were. It was just the coolest. My friends and family had no idea what to expect, but they were pleasantly surprised by the beauty and creativity of the performances and costumes. They loved the venue, too. Thanks again for letting me be part of this wonderful event, and I hope to see you back there again next year!
