okay, enough fooling around. Cast your vote for moderator.
This thread will be forwarded to Tribe, so keep it short and intelligible, okay?
I nominate the Gov'ner.

Re: vote for moderator
03/15I nominate Mystlplyx because he needs to devote more time to tribe. -
-
Re: vote for moderator
03/15Respectfully declined.
Seconded the Gov.
Either that or just leave it as is. -
-
Re: vote for moderator
03/16I would also have nominated Mystlplyx, because the Gov'ner needs to devote most of his time to getting elected, and could use a canny and cagey manager AND moderator.
I therefore nominate Goofaman for moderator and Satan for campaign manager. Two nominations for the price of one. With such a team behind him, Gov'ner will be installed in the White House lickety-split and putting a barbecue pit in the Rose Garden before you can say Jack Robinson. -
-
Re: vote for moderator
03/16Here's how I see it. It's gotta be Jimi the parrot, Sluggo or the Gov.
I fear I will not tender the popular vote. But I will help build the BBQ Pit. -
-
Re: vote for moderator
03/16I second Goofaman, Sluggo, and Jimi.
Can I do that? -
-
Re: vote for moderator
03/16I second Sluggo. The Gov needs SOME show of opposition.... -
-
Re: vote for moderator
03/16"Can I do that?"
I think procedure is that we all get one second each. I'm a bit rusty...

Re: vote for moderator
03/16I just got a ruling from the Court, thought I would forward it to the group:
*******************************************************************************************
One cannot cast a valid vote for more than one person for the same position on the ballot. To do so is akin to the hanging chad dilemma in Gore v. Bush, supra, in which we cast out all such nonconforming votes by Africian Americans. Though the framers of the constition never intended negros and other non-whites to vote, and we should uphold the original intent of the framers, we did not need to reach that issue today, in that the ballots were inherently defective due to the ambiguity of the intention of the voter.
In this instance, a new election should be held in which the white male Christian voters should recast their votes for one person per ballot position only and all other "persons" should be disqualified.
The only candidates who should be allowed on the ballot are the Christian White landlowning males, as the framers of the Constitution clearly intended, pursuant to the Judeao-Christian cultural norms that prevailed at the time. See, e.g, Jefferson Davis Tibadeux, "How the Constitution Done Showed The Negro & Jew are Inferior," Historical Society of East Texas Knights of the Ku Klux Klan (1932), 2nd Ed.
It is so Ordered.

Justice and Grand Wizard

I have 2 very clear Sluggos and 1 very clear Satan at this point of the thread.
Sorry Myst...all that bullshit about the booze got ya disqualified. -

Re: vote for moderator
03/16Inhabitants of this tribe are not flocking to the polls.
Is this tribe waning in popularity (as if it were ever popular) or are it's citizens Sweet Tea'd out? -
-
Re: vote for moderator
03/16I'm Sweet Tea'd out and I vote for Sluggo.
No, No, No - skip the Sweet Tea.....
I vote for Sluggo. -

Re: vote for moderator
03/16The gov'ner is a booze addled sex addict who can't possibly run his own campaign and Satan is already running way too many political campaigns to put forth the required effort and besides, he made a really poor decision to let Pazuzu direct and edit 'The Exorcism of Emily Rose'. I'm still a bit pissed about that and am therefore unwilling to invest my hard earned cash in another one of the Zu's Prozac fantasies.
Sluggo's the only one who can steer this campaign right, by my reckonin' -

Re: vote for moderator
03/16By her posts this evening, I'd say she's on the ball - at the top of her game!

Re: vote for moderator
03/16>>Sorry Myst...all that bullshit about the booze got ya disqualified.<<
I am being disenfranchized! There is no law that says I cannot be drunk when I cast my vote! I demand that my vote be counted! I pushed the stylus through the device and the intent of the voter is clear! The fact that my chads are currently hanging out does not mean a vote was not cast! I demand a paper trail! I also demand a breadcrumb trail! AND a gingerbread house!
Seriously though, I "very clearly" vote for Sluggo. I'd vote for you if I thought you wanted it, but you declined and Sluggo didn't. So at that point it was between her and the Gov, and she came in and put up three quick posts that cracked me up and that settled that. Even discounting all the many other times she has made me laugh and just basing it on this thread she has effertlessly earned my vote.
Plus the Gov'ner needs to save his energy so he will be fully engorged in aiming his election at the Pres'dential seat. Whoever heard of a candidate handling his own election and winning his way into the seat his election is seeking? When candidates handle their own elections they only shoot off in all directions before ever entering the seat they are aiming at. With Sluggo at the helm to guide the Gov'ners election into the openings that opportunity will spread before him the Gov'ner will be free to concentrate on achieving the passion necessary to raise his election campaign high enough to grab the attention of the voters. Once the voters are impressed by the passionate heights the Gov'ners election has risen to,they will be inspired to open the oval office to him... then he will be free to release the many seeds of his agenda which flow from his policies and will fertalize the receptive Congress into producing new life for this great nation. This is the dream.
The Gov'ner will need Sluggos clear head to provide a check to his passion for his election. Otherwise his unchecked passion might cause him to make mistakes which will cause the voters to condemn him. If the Gov'ners election is condemned the seeds of his policies will not be released into the oval office but will instead be trapped in the condemnation the voters rolled onto his overly passionate election. Sluggo will be farsighted, intelligent, and wise, yet I'm certain she will not feel the same passion for the Gov'ners election that he must, and so she will be the perfect person to guide his election through the scrutiny of the courtship with the voters, and then lubricate his way into the wide opened glistening hallways of history they will spread open for him. She will guide the passion of his election through the oval office and into the Pres'dential seat where at last the Gov'ners passion can explode into policies that will take root in the fertile interior of our Government and give birth to a New America. -

Re: vote for moderator
03/17I vote fer unsubscribed.
I've been seein' a lot a' that one! -

Re: vote for moderator
03/17We're in the nominating convention phase, not the general erection....
So far the active candidates are --
Gov
SoT
Sluggo
Namaste
Unsubscribed
No choice.
Is that it? -
-
Re: vote for moderator
03/17We haven't even heard from one third of the alts...uh...er....person's that make up this tribe of 37.
What are the rules pertaining to clan participation?
I used a "c" - don't get all heated up!

Re: vote for moderator
03/17I don't think you can nominate inanimate objects. Isn't that why the cow-skull's not running? -
-
Re: vote for moderator
03/17So you're saying we can't have a chopped up fetus run as moderator to the Gov'ner's campaign? -
-
This is the maximum depth. Additional responses will not be threaded.
Re: vote for moderator
03/17If it can hobble in the door to campaign and get a nomination and second, I can't see how we can keep it off the ballot, what with the 14th Amendment and all. -

Re: vote for moderator
03/17I thought it was just supposed to lay there and suck up the votes like one o' them tree frogs.

Re: vote for moderator
03/17Well, thank Yesu for that! I was afraid we had a test case on our hands...
Does that close out the nominations or what? We have three candidates, along with this Namaste jasper to promise us voters goodies...

03/17>>I don't think you can nominate inanimate objects. Isn't that why the cow-skull's not running?<<
If namaste and unsubscribed can run then the bourbon and beer can too. At least they have actuall mass and physical volume. But it doesn't really matter. The polling data I'm looking at shows they don't have a chance in hell anyway. Maybe we should leave them as write in candidates. It's not as if they're going to complain or anything. -

Re: vote for moderator
03/17OK. The (revised) nominees list stands at
Gov
SoT
Sluggo
Namaste
Unsubscribed
One bottle of bourbon (brand unspecified, we might want to do a background check)
One six-pack of PBR longnecks.
Hm. This raises an interesting procedural question. Are the PBR longnecks to be considered as one candidate or six?

Re: vote for moderator
03/17While we are discussing this why don't you hand me one of them? And grab one yourself too... maybe by the time the discussion is over the problem will have solved itself.
Who wants beer? There are 4 left and no-one gets any bourbon till they're all empty...
Now about this unsubscribed fella... there's a certain appeal to him/her because then anyone could become moderator by simply unsubbing. But at the same time by unsubbing they wouldn't be able to do anything or wield any power as mod. So we'd be back where we are right now.
And if you think about it our previous moderator unsubbed, so that means a vote for unsubbed is a vote for Curious George, and term limits prohibit that. Now if the ghost of Curious George wanted to run that might be different... I don't think there's any rule against ghosts... but the ghost of Curious George is not unsubbed, and that means unsubscribed is prohibited due to term limits. -

Re: vote for moderator
03/17Hm. We should probably use "Unsubscribed" as a portmanteau term encompassing "No choice" and "No moderator."
Rather as if there HAD been a President Quayle...

Re: vote for moderator
03/17i must strenlessly object. i am not curus george. there are no term limits for me i have not servd no terms yet.
i wuld like to be modrater for this grate tribe. i wuld be honerd to serv and hapiness wuld gush out from me to be lected to modratr and i promis to do my best to modrate farely an not piss nobody off to much, cept when they deservs it an then i ken kick some ass.
i am unsubscribed. i wuz once membr here lik you. i left. but im stil here. i don know how this hapend but here i am.
my qualificatons is i unsubscribed. i had corage to do what all you shuld do but dont. this tribe.net is sensoring the bred out of our mouths an its rong. i did somthing bout it by unsubscribing and you all do nothing. thats why i shuld be modratr.
i don even rememr who i was befor i unsubscribd. i don know why im still here. all i know is i used to be sombody an now im unsubscribd. if i cud be modratr i wud be sombody agin, an that wude be ok with me.

Re: vote for moderator
03/17OK. I'll scratch "Unsubscribed" back in. A theoretical abstraction can't drink beer...

03/18Is it ethical to vote for myself, with conditions? I hain't been checking in as regular as I ought... -

03/18Why, yes. But first we need to close out nominations... anyone else what to moderate this hallucination?

Re: vote for moderator
03/18I don't know, I would say as ONE candidate, but that's just personal experience talking. Around here, they generally get consumed six at a time.
Background check on the bourbon: A fine, American drink made from fine, American ingredients. Basil Hayden, Knob Creek, etc. Even "Grandpa's Old Popskull." -
-
Re: vote for moderator
03/18The above was in response to Rockstar's question about PBR longnecks. Damn you Internet! You get me confoozled! Oh, these Intarwebs, they's a tool of the Evil One, yessir.
Oh, and I also nominate Goofaman because he's up to the mark on today's issues and would do a fine job.
