Christopher Goodwin has solved many of the problems associated with greasel and other kits, plus he's always R+D'ing to improve on his already advanced system. He also does installations in his shop here. He's not a hippy, he just wants his kids to be able to breath when they grow up.

Re: seattle based kit- I'm saving my money up for this
Fri, July 14, 2006 - 5:28 PMveg not getting hot enough (!)
veg not staying hot enough as it passes thru filters, a cold weather issue
other small problems that may exist:
the tank's plastic (non buffeted; slosh and gulp air) and an oil cooler hangs inside it, swingin' as you drive (is this a way to mix the oil up?) no warning system for premature shutdown or switch of fuel source, poor craftsmanship.
also, it seems (correct me if i am wrong) that greasel hasn't improved on their design in at least 5 years. not that this is a problem for a system that had undergone an expensive and exhaustive R&D period, but this looks like a compilation of parts (most obtainable at a lesser price) for the pupose of making money. Now, am all for the movement and i hope anyone can succeed in a business like greasel, and before someone from greasel bites my head off i should say that I do appreciate what they have done. I just hope that consumers can make an informed decision (like the one i am making this summer) when it comes to modifying their vehicle. -

Fri, July 14, 2006 - 5:36 PMalso about FRYBRID:
boasts a very impressive lessening in warm-up and flush time (go to the website for details)
computer-powered
alarm for early switching/ shutoff
burly aircraft-style aluminum parts and TIG welds (this i liked when i saw his shop)
heated filter unit
and a solution to the RETURN LINE issue -- did anyone here get veg into the wrong tank?

Frybrid has stated that their is a back log on receiving their heat exchangers so they can ship them with the kit. Hopefully, I wil receive this kit within the next couple of weeks.
