I thought I would let you girls know that this afternoon Kealsey die. <sigh> she was 13 yrs. old and from what I understand that is pretty old for large dogs. I'm glad that she was part of my life, my friend and my fur child.

Re: =(
Fri, June 20, 2008 - 8:44 AMI am so very, very sorry. 13 is indeed on the very outside of Pyr's lifespan. Most make it to 11ish (my baby was 11-1/2 when she passed). You were so lucky to have her for so long. The hurt of losing a Pyr is different than any other but eventually it will become easier to deal with. -

Wed, June 25, 2008 - 1:59 PMThanks Michelle you are right it is a different hurt, the fist week kind of sucked, but it is getting easer. We're (mostly me) hoping to get another Pyr in the fall. It would be cool to get a puppy but I wouldn't mind a rescue Pyr either just cuz I know that there are people out there that have no appreciation or understanding of the breed. Besides I'm a sucker for their big brown eyes =) -

Re: =(
Fri, June 27, 2008 - 1:06 PMYou have some good Pyr people in your area, I'm sure they will be able to help you once ready. I know I will never, ever be without a Pyr. it's just unimaginable.
again, sorry for your loss

Sat, August 2, 2008 - 6:07 AMVikki, I'm SO sorry to hear about Kealsey! I've had big computer woes, so I haven't been around very often...for quite a while actually.
13 years is quite an age, you're very lucky! I hope your wonderful memories of Kealsey are a comfort to you right now.
Take care,
Val -
