Vino!

topic posted Mon, June 18, 2007 - 9:30 PM by  DarqueRaven
The second weekend of July has been put forth as a possible winetasting date. I would like to hit up the vineyards of El Dorado or Amador Counties. Let's pack a picnic basket and head for the hills! Saturday the 14th or Sunday the 15th, folks?

Sorry I can't make it. Candace and I will be camping that weekend.

Here's a pretty good map of the Shenandoah Valley around Plymouth.

Okay . . . the second weekend isn't looking so good afterall, Mark and I have a catering gig on Saturday and I have a Passion Party planned for Sunday. So, how about the third weekend? That would be the 21st or 22nd? The 21st is the day the FINAL HARRY POTTER BOOK hits stores, but I'm willing to miss out on the insanity at the bookstore and go winetasting instead. :)

Hey guys! Man I have been neglecting this tribe. My apologies!

Any hoo, I have my doubts that Milo and I will get the chance to get away to join you guys, but I would love to visit the Amador wineries, many of which Milo and I drive by each time we visit his fam in West Point. I have a friend here at work who is really into wine, and even does winetasting parties now. She sent me the following list of her favorite Amador wineries, so I thought I would share it here:

This links to some of the wineries: www.wineriesinamador.com/Wineries.html

          Bella Piazza (excellent place)
          Open 10-5 daily
          19900 Shenandoah School Rd., Plymouth
Beautiful view and has art item

Villa Toscano (sister winery to Bella; Beautiful)
          Open 10-5
Has a cafe style restaurant to eat at

          Montevina Winery
          20680 Shenandoah School Road

          Renwood Winery
          10:30-4:30
12225 Stein Road - Has a picnic area

Have not been to this one, but it is well known

Keep us posted on the date! Milo and I will be out this weekend (July 20-22) and with the house and moving and Burning Man, that may be our last lil fun outing for a while... but it is beautiful up there in the fall!
