From the dawn of mankind, antlered beings have symbolized mystical and magical realms. Painted on the wall of a cave in southern France a shaman dances to an ancient rhythm while wearing the antlers of the sacred reindeer. In the artwork of the Celtic peoples their Gods are depicted with antlers to show their association with the power of nature. Today fantasy artists portray Nature Spirits and Faeries with antlers as a reminder of rebirth and our connection to nature.
These antlers are hand sculpted and carefully carved from professional quality polymer clay. We use Super Sculpy which is used by movie studios to create maquettes and models. Designed to be painted on, it fires to a firm chip resistant consistency. We paint them, with acrylic paints, using various dry brush and glazing techniques, then seal the finish with a non yellowing protective coating to create a rich image of transformational reality. Wide bases and a braided nylon cord insure a firm fit that will stay on even during some of your wildest dancing!
