This was the best episode ever!!! I know it was shocking which is what I want to talk about. I've been reading blogs about peoples opinion of the shows direction and I thought I would ad mine.
Merideth needs to sever the ties between her and Derrick but I think the reason that she hasn't is becuase this relationship still has possibility. Izzies character has flatlined. I wish she would get back up and gain some confidence. She's trying but she's just not getting anywhere. But the real reason why I am commenting:
I just want to examine the whole Calie hahn situation because people seem to be confused.
First of all it is completley out in the open now that Hahn is a Lesbian. Think back to when she first entered season 4. She and christina were having the conversation about promescescuity and career advantages when hahn said "Your charms won't work on me because I date men" (something like that). It struck me as odd that she has to put it out in the open like that but I just dismissed the idea that she could be gay. That is until she turned down McSteamy and said that she was not attracted to him. At this point I thought she was being coy.
Now that the writers have introduced the idea that Hauhn and Callie could possibly be a couple it is confirmed. Well at least on hauns end. She is in love with Callie. They would not even make this sugesstion unless the story is going in this direction. Remember we got the full blown, completley obvious, love slap when Callie, Addison, And Hahn were talking at the end of the episode. Hauhn lovingly reached over to Callie to remove a hair from her lip and after wards there was a strange pause. Hauhn pulls them back on topic when she says "so you were saying...".
Then Callie jumps on the oppertunity to dance with Mcsteamy. Knowtice how she is being overly flirtatius and very touchy with him while haun can't take her eyes off of Callie and even admits that she thinks she is beautiful. At which point Addison gives Haun a smirk because she sees what's going on.
When Callie gets ready to leave Joe's with Mcsteamy she first looks over to Hahn. On the way out I'm sure I'm not the only one who knowticed Hauns look of distain.
This romance is definatley going somewhere. I suspect that Callie and Hahn will end up together if only for a short time. Even if they don't work out (what couple does on the show)I'm sure that we are not going to see a change in Hahn after wards (as far as sexuality that is).
With that said, I'll say that unlike 99% of the veiwers, I actually like Hahn character. I can tell that she puts up this front of being the tough surgeon but inside she is probably very sensitive. Did you knowtice how she said "she reminds me of me" when she was talking about christina. I think Hahn was too into pleasing people to be liked and now she has moved on.
One thing I can't understand is the dynamic between Hahn and christina. Hahn is perpousfully ignoring her and I think later in the season we will find out why. I can't wait for thursday's episode and I look forward to seeing Haun and Callies relationship blosom. Furthermore, I hope they keep Haun around for season 5; as the show progresses I'm sure we'll see more of her softer side.
