As to the question, I've been to a few Primal parties and hooked up with couples a few times when I was still an active subscriber to AFF. The experiences have been all good, so I don't have any horror stories. As a male, I have the option of going to places like Blow Buddies. However, I'm more oriented toward the MFM scenario. Also I'm concerned that the guys who patronize those places have an aversion to safe sex. So, I haven't been there. Anyway, it's all been pretty random -- a few juicy opportunities along the way, with long droughts in between.

Craigslist is so-so but my best play partners have been people who see me as an out bisexual and seek me out. Being out of the closet is your best strategy.

I've noticed that the geographic area one is in can have a huge impact on the availability of partners.

Here in Santa Cruz, most bi men in my age group are closeted. Being out of the closet myself scares these men away. There are a lot of BUGs (bisexuals until graduation) on the UCSC campus, but I'm aging out of that dating pool, being almost 40 now.

Still, there are places one can go for casual encounters, even here in Santa Cruz. There is an adult bookstore with booths where male/female couples have been known to pick up a guy.

Being out can be a help too: I've been cruised by couples I've met in other settings such as work, parties, friends of friends, etc.

Personally I'm a believer in being out because it tends to filter out those who would have bigoted reactions to my face, the downside of course being that they talk behind my back. Ah, humans :)

But getting back to geography, the larger progressive population centers such as SF and the East Bay do have a much larger dating pool of out bisexual men, so I often travel for dates.
