Hee hee...yes, it seems to be very very quiet on the Gypsy Fusion List....Why? Are we all that busy with life that we cannot pop in and say Howdy at least? ;-)

Things have been busy out here in the midwest. My tribe (Dark Side Tribal) just went to Tribal Revolution in Chicago this past weekend, and the past few months have been devoted to getting our performance ready for the main show of the festival. It was such an amazing weekend! Classes with Kammi Liddle, Karim Nagy (of Turbo Tabla), Zafira Dance Company, and Blue Lotus Tribe-- two nights of amazing shows -- vending galore. After the whole thing ended yesterday afternoon, our little caravan made an inpromptu food and sari-shopping trip through Chicago's incredible Indian district on the way home. I didn't want to leave!
Today I'm back at work, and man, after this weekend I think I could sleep for a month. But wait, there's new dance stuff to start working on... -

It seems like lately it is one show after another, no time to pause and breath, or even create new stuff like we want to! So, when are you coming back to MD for a visit? BTW, Despina is pregnant! She is due in November, so you have to come then to see the baby!!! She is having a boy, but they haven't picked out a name yet.

No kidding! Well, Dark Side is only 6 months old, so we having been churning out new stuff, but it's definitely been one show after another for that whole time. We'll get a bit of a break in August, though, because one of our girls is leaving to go to grad school in San Francisco (omg dance mecca!), so we'll be backing off and spending a while training and regrouping after that.

I likely won't be back till the winter, though there's a possibility I may make a quick trip back in August or September. I will definitely be looking for some Gypsy mojo when I come back, though. :)
