The Day of the Dead holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to remember friends and relatives who have died, so please join us in dance to celebrate loved ones who have passed on. <br/> <br/>Who: This event is not open to the general public. Any dancers are welcome to perform. All dancers are welcome as audience members, as are those invited by dancers (ie. family &amp; friends). There will be an open dance time where we encourage everyone, dancers and non-dancers to dance together in celebration. As there is the possibility of content not-suitable for children, we ask you use your own discretion in bringing your kiddies. <br/> <br/>Fee: Entrance fee is $5 for performing dancers &amp; $10 for everyone else. We are providing Mexican appetizers, water, soda and non-alcoholic margaritas, mojitos and sangria…bring your own ‘flavor enhancers.’ <br/>Altar: We will have a traditional Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) altar, which is used to honor the memory of someone who touched your life. Anyone who had a positive impact on your life can be the subject of a Day of the Dead altar, from a beloved pet to Mother Teresa. Our tent - while soaked - was decorated to the hilt and we even had a monkey! <br/> <br/>There were lots of scary, cute and funny characters that stopped by our booth to get a trinket and a chocolate coin. Quite a few future belly dancers also stopped by. <br/> <br/>Thanks go out to the staff and volunteers at Anne Marie Gardens!
