So we were rained out the last time we attempted to perform at the farmers Market. BUT, since we were all dressed in costume with nothing to do we hit up Eggcetra for breakfast in hopes that the rain would let up...but of course it didn't.
Which was fine because then we went SHOPPING...in costume :0) So we paraded ourselves up and down the main street in downtown Wichita hitting the Vintage clothing stores and Resell shops. Had a great time and we all got a ton of great costume pieces..and some not for costumes. And by walking around in public with a herd of 7 costumed bellydancers we also picked up some new students that showed up to the beginning class on Wednesday :0) So it was definately worth getting up at 7am that morning and getting dressed in Tribal costume just to eat breakfast and shop.
Who says that bellydance is just about dancing!! We all had a great time and everyone fit in my 7 seater Olds Custom Cruiser. Imagine the sight of us piling out of the car at the DAV and Salvation army. I bet we looked like a clown car of bellydancers. By the time we were done it was so full of bags and clothes and us that we had to practically spill out of it.
Anywho.....we will attempt it again on July 26th @ 9am. At the Farmers Market in Old Town. And if it is raining there is always plan "B"..Breakfast and Shopping!! So please feel free to join us either way.
We will also have the monthly potluck at my house on Sunday July 27th. Since we didn't get through many of the DVD's of Tribal Fest we will attempt that again as well. This time we will also be working on our costumes for Rennaissance Faire and the Studio Show in March '09. So please bring items that you want to work on. We will also attempt to alter the items we bought while shopping into cool costume items.
We will probably meet at 3pm again.
