Re: leave in conditioners
Thu, September 15, 2005 - 6:01 PMok, awapuhi, for those of you not here, is a form of ginger found in hawaii that has excellent conditioning properties, and smells heavenly. Lori, you must try it if you haven't yet, use it to wash and you can also leave it in yor hair and all over your body, once it dries the gelly stickiness goes away, and you are left with flowery softness.
however, avril, it only blooms in the summer here, sooo for the rest of the year??? and it doesn't have a sunscreen... -

Re: leave in conditioners
Thu, September 15, 2005 - 6:29 PMi used to use awapuhi on the mainland--it was in a shampoo i used to use. what awapuhi products do you recommend? or should i just wait to get it straight from the plant?
currently, i'm using kenra intensive emollient treatment for dry and chemically stressed hair. my hair isn't chemically stressed, but the heavy duty stuff is what works best for my hair (coarse, wavy, frizzy at times).
also, and this is one for everyone--pearatin by loma. it's a "fortifying reapairative serum". sometimes after i swim and rinse off, i just put a little bit in to control frizz. it also makes hair shiny and you can use it on your skin.
neither of these use animal testing. but fructis garnier doesn't claim not to! beware! -
