Here is the new class schedule:
11:00 - NOON
Poi-tastic - Kenna of Gypsy Soul
As we all strive to become better dancers, we want to add layers to our dance. Poi, an art form originating from New Zealand, can help your dance to the next level. In this class you will learn basic poi moves and combinations that will give you the foundation for incorporating poi into your dance. Note: You can make your own practice poi from knee high socks and tennis balls or fancy sock poi will be available for purchase.
NOON - 1 PM
Dancing with Drummers - Jezebel
Taught along side the Drumming with Dancers class, come join us as we dance with the drummers using some games to get the creative juices flowing and a little choreography to be used with one of the rhythms.
2:00 - 3:00 PM
Basic Sword Technique- Shanrae of Tribal Fire
Included in this class is care and safety for sword, discussing how to infuse a sense of mystery/danger into your swordwork, a basic warm up, covering balance points, basic floorwork/level changes and a short choreography. Students please bring a sword.
3:00 - 4:00 PM
Funky Combos - Anne and Jenn of Gypsy Soul
Combining bellydance with other world dance influences for new, fun combinations. Learn sassy, funky combos to spice up your next routine.
4:00 - 5:00 PM
Drills for Improving Technique, Mia Donna Style - Mia Donna
Bored with the basics? Drilling your foundation is a vital practice to excel in any dance form. Get excited about practicing again! Learn new ways to take a leap in strengthening your Technique with practical application to Improve performance! This class is an intermediate/advanced level class.

The Scandal of Bare Skin, Northern Indian Garb - Eshva of Hareem Shar'eem
Yes Viriginia, there really were bare tummies in period. Attend class to find out when, where, and what.

Drumming for Dancers - Kilij Kayin
Drummers, come and learn some simple techniques used to play with bellydancers at performances and haflas. Learn techniques that will help you work as a team to improve the performances of both drummers and dancers. This class will be taught along side the Dancing with Drummers class.
2:00 - 3:00 PM
Beginner Darbuka - Mark of Ishtar
For beginner percussionists or drummers who have let the dust settle on their
drums! Sit with Mark and refresh your memory about drum hits, and basic Middle
Eastern Rhythms.
3:00 - 4:00PM
The Art of Taksim with Basic Makam Theory - Melissa of Ishtar
How to make your improvisational solos go somewhere and come back. Which notes
are important in which makam. How to cue/communicate with other musicians. Also,
how to practice your improvisational skills at home.
4:00 - 5:00PM
Middle Eastern Music Ensemble - Melissa of Ishtar
Percussionists and Melody musicians, learn songs together!
Lunch Break and Garb Fashion Show at 1:00 PM. Lena will be there selling lunch items
