It has been said "Don't call them bikers until you see they ride a Harley". To that I say BULLSHIT!
Biker: A person that won't let their lover stand in the way of their motorcycle. How many times have you heard "I got married and the wife said I had to sell the bike"? Every woman in my life has known from day one that to even think such thoughts is to find herself looking for a new man.
Born-Again Biker: A person that has decided to put their spouse on the market and find a new bike.
So what is your definition of a biker?

Mon, March 6, 2006 - 6:57 PMSomeone who rides...ALOT! Need to have more miles on two wheels than 4. Driving a junk cage around with a sticker in the window and half a bike (or even a whole one) in the basement don't make a biker no matter how much leather they wear. -

Tue, March 7, 2006 - 8:26 AMI can get behind that. I think that there are many things that actually make up a biker. Above all it has absolutely nothing to do with what you ride, which seems to be a common misconception.
Case in point: during the late 70's my Dad sold a few BMW's to some Brother Speed MC members. BSMC is considered a 1% club. While one of the guys rode a chopped Beemer, these were the early R90S and R100S editions that they left stock. They just wanted to ride fast sometimes and couldn't get the same results with any Harley of that day. So here's some One Percenter's ripping it up on Euro sport bikes. Didn't make them any less of bikers.
Ultimately, I think being a biker is in the heart and soul of an individual, man or woman, young or old and any race. It's a passion that burns within and cannot be extinguished, no matter what life throws our way. A person is a biker because they feel it deep within, not because they want to be a part of a cool crowd.
