Entertainment Weekly hasa big ole article about Harry Potter, the GoF movie and the HBP book. In the article there is a still from the GoF showing Harry in the graveyard standing next to the tombstone of Voldemort's father's parents as well as his father, Tom Riddle.
The problem is that his father is listed as Tom Marvolo Riddle. WHAT?! Tom MARVOLO Riddle? Why the hell would Tom Riddle's FATHER have the middle name of Tom Riddle's MOTHER's father?
They need to fix this shit before it's in the theatre.

Re: Hogwarts, we have a problem
Tue, March 14, 2006 - 12:38 PMOK you did not look at the grave closely...The names are all of the Riddle family.
HIS mothers name is Merope Gaunt ...
www.hp-lexicon.org/wizards/riddle.html
Above his Head is : Thomas Riddle, SR. (his father also appears his great grand father
right to his face seems to be the grandmother of Voldemort, purhaps MARY RIDDLE?
below it is TOM Marvolo Riddle, JR.(Voldemort)
all three seem to be buried there... -

Re: Hogwarts, we have a problem
Tue, March 14, 2006 - 1:52 PMThe point is that the name on the grave is TOM MARVOLO RIDDLE, which is a name unique to Voldemort. The three names on the grave all have the same death year. Presumably they are the three Riddle family members whose mysterious deaths are mentioned in the beginning of Goblet of Fire, which we later learn in Half-Blood Prince to be the father and paternal grandparents that the Young Tom Riddle killed. It can't possibly be Tom Marvolo Riddle in that grave, but his father, with whom he shares a first and last name, but not the middle name of Marvolo, as that was his maternal grandfather's name.
The problem is that Tom Marvolo Riddle is not burried in that grave, in fact whoever created the headstone would never have heard of the name Marvolo.

Re: Hogwarts, we have a problem
Mon, March 20, 2006 - 5:54 AMThis was sent to me in a PM. Since it's a public discussion, I thought I'd keep it here:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
"The problem is that Tom Marvolo Riddle is not burried in that grave, in fact whoever created the headstone would never have heard of the name Marvolo. "
ONE no one knows for sure who made that HEAD stone...TOM MARVOLO RIDDLE dissapeared in 1945...his grandparents WERE (killed) by Voldemort At that time. BUT no one KNEW he did it it was blamed on MORFIN GAUNT, and Voldemort made him believe(Stupefied him and implanted false memories.) he did it.
The orphanage would have known him as TMR not Voldemort. He was known as Voldemort after he left Hogwarts in 1945, AFTER he killed his family, he disappeared, and sunk into the dark arts and later resurfaced as Voldemort. They would have used his name,TMR, on the stone without his body.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The headstone is for three people. Two very old people and one slightly younger person, neither of which is young enough to be Voldemort, regardless of who might have known his name. Voldemort's father died with his parents. So tell me, Nikki, if that is supposed to be Voldemort's body in that grave, where do you suppose his father is?
The three people in that grave are Voldemort's father, paternal grandmother and paternal grandfather, none of whom are named "Tom Marvolo Riddle." This was a mistake on the part of a prop-maker. I don't know if it made it into the movie or not.
