Every year TJC puts on an event called International Day where they exhibit several different cultures around the world. There will be dancing of all kinds, cultural artifacts, etc..

Harvest Moon is proud to be representing Middle Eastern Dance (belly dance)! We are dancing 2- 30 minute spots at 12:30 and 2:30.
Come join us it is a lot of fun!

Please join us at TJC's 18th International Day, on
Tuesday, April 22,2008,
from 9:00 a.m. till 5:00 p.m.,
Apache Rooms, Roger's StudentCenter.

Furthermore, there will be door prizes, free food and drink, ice cream,
first class entertainment from around the world, and excellent
educational opportunity for you and students. There will be plenty of
educational activities for kids.

Can a girl get some information?

Hi all!

I've just moved to the area and am looking for a new belly dance "home" but I'm having some trouble getting information about the Harvest Moon studio! Any help anyone can provide would be more than appreciated!

I've been belly dancing off and on for 6 years now, so I need information about what class to come to, when, and how much the fees are. Also, I saw on the website that there is a Super Sunday workshop coming up but can't find further information on it. Is anyone welcome to come? What is the fee?

Directions from I-20 East: Take Line Avenue exit. After exiting, take right at second traffic light. This is Line Avenue. Continue until Jordan Street (next traffic light). Take a right on Jordan, continue until Fairfield (next traffic light). Take a right on Fairfield. The Cafe is the next corner on the right. Parking is easiest in the back. Overshoot the cafe, then take a hard right into the back parking lot. There is a shorter route if you just turn right immediately after the exit, but it goes through some "scary" streets : ) Call me if you get lost!

i wasn't aware there was anyone bellydancing here! i'm so excited...i just moved here from austin and i'm hoping to spend the time here learning. i am teaching myself hula hoop dance and think i could definitely incorporate bellydance into that, also, my kids are homeschooled and would both love to bellydance, too. are there classes for beginners and kids?

It's a Girl !!!

Lilly Cutler is here! She weighs just under five lbs and her moma says she has a head full of hair and long eyelashes. Congratulations JD and Brit !!
They are at Dallas' Baylor hospital and will for sure be there until Mon. We are not sure what happens then, but as soon as we find out we will let everyone know.
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. We still have Brit's treatment ahead of us so please continue to send lots of good energy their way.

It's official !!
Our new location is the Evergreen Plaza on the corner of Gilmer Rd. and Evergreen, just north of the new Wal-Mart Super Center. Classes in the new studio will begin Sept 10 and with the new convenient location I hope to see some familiar faces return to class.
Early Registration begins August 1 and runs thru Aug15. The new schedule / rates will be posted Aug 1. I am waiving registration fees for students who enroll during Early Registration.

Thursday August 2, 2007 is the annual Queen of Raks Sharqi and Troupe Cario Nights Competition held by LIttle Egypt in Dallas. Directions for Spirit June30 & July 1

For you Out of Towners: From I20 take 259 North, Then Loop 281. Head west on 281 and The Wingate will be on your right.
To the theatre: From Hwy 80 ( Marshall Ave. ) take 2nd St ( heading south) to Whaley. The theatre is on the corner of Whaley and 2nd. I know that some of you are staying on 80 so that should be easy. For those of you staying at the Wingate you can take 4rth St. all the way to 80.

Spirit Workshops updates- location change

Due to the overwhelming response, our humble studio will not be able to accommodate all you wonderful ladies so we have changed the location of the workshops. The workshops will be held at the Dottie Hunt School of Dance, 1615 Pine Tree Rd. It's real easy to find. From the
Wingate take at right onto Loop 281. Stay on 281 to Pine Tree Rd. Take a right on Pine Tree and Miss Dottie's is on the left. Some easy to see landmarks on Loop 281include a Drug Emporium and a Goodwill store on the right hand side of the road just before you get to Pine Tree. From Hwy 80 head north on Pinetree
I'm so sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused anyone. Ple-e-ease pass the word!

Spring Belly Dance Event

We are returning to our original event schedule. Harvest Moon originally hosted two events a year, " The Spirit of Dance", a recital style theatre production in the Spring/Summer and a more laid back party style Hafla in theFall/Winter.
I am happy to announce the return of The Spirit of Dance, June 30, 2007 at the Longview Community Theatre. Tickets will go on sale May 30th.
More info will follow; one thing you can count on is losts of great dancing and maybe a surprise or two. Stay posted!

Day of Dance

I would like to let everyone know that Harvest Moon will be performing at this years Day Of Dance sponsered by Good Shepard Medical Hospital, the area's only hospital participating in The Spirit of Women ( featured on Oprah) Health Movement.
We are very excited about the event which is set to occur Sat. Feb 17, 8am to 12noon at Maude Cobb Convention Center in downtown Longview.
If you join us you will have the opportunity to see all kinds of dancing (always fun) AND get some of your health screenings out of the way FOR FREE!

Saturday night... we'll all head to Dan Electros to see some belly dance - with our special guests Anahata from DFW sharing the stage with the Tribal Lillies - and who knows who else...maybe you!..... AND then stay for the music (and more) with Beans Barton the Bi-Peds take the stage at
10pm. It'll be an all out bellydancer throw down party!

I'd say... bring a kazoo if you have one - or wear a tutu! You never know what might happen there... and it's always fun.
