Someone on another tribe asked a question about crocheting with raffia. So I tried it with dry raffia and damp raffia. It's difficult either way. But with the wet raffia, it becomes almost like a squeegee and won't slide on the hook or over my fingers, and all the holes collapse, making it difficult to see where the next stitch should go. So I definitely vote for dry raffia. Anyone else have an opinion?

Sun, August 7, 2005 - 10:59 PMI just finished the raffia hat for the most part. Tomorrow I need to give it a hair cut and secure the ends, but I'll go ahead and post a photo.
