Anyone know of any cute baby hats? My son is 9 months, and all the hats I have seen are too sporty, too boring, too something. A washable hat would be good, and one with a brim all the way around.

We were outside a lot yesterday and the sunscreen alone was not enough. I tried to keep him in the shade, but it was not always easy. He had a low fever last night and I am worried it was from the sun. But I also hate to keep him inside on weekends as beautiful as we just had!!

so what is the most you would spend on a baby-wear item and what would it have to be? i think the dollar limit for me would be $75 and that would have to be on a winter coat. i'd even have a hard time justifying that amount and would feel guilty about it.

Very confused - six month sizes

I'm totally confused.

PK is now six months, and fits into 6 to 9 month onesies, as well as some 6 to 12 month stuff.

But - As I'm trying to find a coat for her upcoming trip to the mid-atlantic states for Solstice I notice 6 to 12 month coats seem huge on her, and 6 to 9 month stuff is mostly buntingish type stuff, y'know - the little baby that doesn't move around type clothing.

So I guess what I'm asking is should I buy a oversized coat for her that she may or may not fit into by December, or is there another third option?

Kinda off topic, but I appreciate your aesthetic senses:

My dad and his wife offered to get me a crib and I high chair when Parker's about 6 months or so..We've already decided on the Svan for the high chair (yes, they can afford it - so graetful :-) ), but we still have yet to find a convertible 3 or 4 in 1 crib that we like that's a reasonable price (less than 500, if not cheaper) and well, not totally fugly like most of the babies r us cribs.

I'm beginning to think I'm asking for something that doesn't exist - unless you guys know something I don't..

clothing brands for the long and lean baby?

help!!

my daughter is so long and lean that it's getting damn near impossible to find clothes that fit her properly. she weighs about 18.5lbs and is close to 32" tall! what that means is that anything that is long enough in length on her is falling off her waist, and anything that fits her waist looks like she is waiting for the flood. you'd think it would be easy since we're in the summer months, but we live in san francisco, so it's not summer until mid to late september!

the only brand that seems to work for her that i've encountered is n-kids, which is a nordstrom brand so it's very very pricey. i do get lucky and find some of their stuff at nordstrom rack every now and then, but i totally can't afford to buy it from nordies directly.

any ideas for me?

Yeah, I know, sooooo out of my price range, HARD to get on the West Coast; but soooooo damnorible (adorable)!!! I have found a couple of items at my local consignment, but never in my daughter's size (too small, or would have bought for the future and drooled in the meantime).

How are we Momma's doing in the fashion dept. these days?

As a new Mom fluctuating between sizes and with little time, I find myself wearing boring outfits that allow for lots of bending, stooping.....and crawling (lol). But seriously, I am looking soooo 'Mom'....verging on trailer park Mom. Stella is my fashion accessory. I kid about that all the time, but hey...it's somewhat true. At least one out of the two of us looks well put together!

I tend to buy clothes for Stella and not myself, also. Mommy needs a makeover.

i have a friend who always teases me when she catches us matching, and i swear i don't do it on purpose. it's just some days i'm in the mood for certain colors, i guess, subconsciously... or stripes, or we're both wearing velour hoodies, or something...

i'm obsessed with baby clothes. i admit it. there should be a 12 step program for people like me. it doesn't help that i work in the industry either.

i went through baby's closet & drawers the other day and took out one huge plastic bin of clothes... many of the pieces barely worn. it's a disease. my only comfort is knowing that i'm also one hell of a bargain shopper and that some less-fortunate mom is going to be getting some awesome baby clothes when i donate them in a few weeks.
