Re: Exotic body piercing
Mon, November 13, 2006 - 6:00 PMHmm..I dunno James...
Spikes in the hands and feet arent listed in Body Piercings along with Prince Alberts,Septum Rings,Clitoral Piercings and Naval and Eyebrow Piercings!
Spiked feet and hands?...Naaaww not for me...wayyy too much blood loss!
At least Pilate should have used smaller nails like say a 10-penney?..for Asthetics that would have looked a LOT nicer than Railroad Sized Spikes!
And his Piercings looked particularly Nasty when he was taken down off that Cross..."someone" wasnt doing Proper Piercing Aftercare! -

Re: Exotic body piercing
Tue, November 14, 2006 - 11:11 PMJesus might have had a Prince Albert. After all, we can't see beneath his loincloth.
Wasn't his chest pierced with a spear, too? Is there a special name for that Spear head? I would imagine that it had 'magical powers'.
I'm not sure if the Romans had '10-penney' nails but I doubt it.

Wed, November 15, 2006 - 2:13 AMAlso, Christ was not the first person to be crucified. The Romans were already known for doing crucification to traitors. -

Wed, November 15, 2006 - 2:47 AMyeah, that's a good point Jackal.
It wasn't only the Romans that crucified people either.
I saw a documentary on the north African city of Carthage, essentially the 'other Superpower' on the mediterranian. Carthage was a Naval power settled by Phonecians (modern day Palestinians). Carthage had one of the most powerful Navies in the mediterranian. Part of their secret?
The captain and crew of any ship that failed to obtain victory in Naval battle were crucified upon returning to Carthage.
How's that for performance anxiety? -

Re: Exotic body piercing
Fri, February 8, 2008 - 11:51 AMYes that is why so many christians hate the Sparticus movie with kirk douglas.
several hundred people getting crucified kind of thwarts Jesus' specialness, doesn't it?
I just joined and I LOVE this tribe! It is like a leprechaun leaped out of my ear and made it just for me!!!
