Fundie Atheists

Since this tribe is dead now. I think we need to convert it to "Having Fun with Atheist Fundies". We can talk about the irrationality of atheism. How they must borrow logic and reason from Christians in order to think. We can discuss the fact that atheists make poor citizens and neighbors, and how they are disproportionately represented in our prisons. We can discuss their emotional and psychological devlepment and why so many are social misfits. Perhaps we can even start a former atheist anonymous group (faag), and try to help atheists come back to sound thinking. What do you think?

Intro fun story

Hailsa! Thanks for forum. 49 yo Druid here.

Several years ago I needed to visit a small Michigan town on business, and stopped by a CVS for a soda. The 20-something bleach blonde with a WWAAAYYY pasted on smile gave me back too much change. I asked her, somewhat annoyed, if she wanted her excess change back. She pointed to her oversized cross and WWJD bracelet and chimed " What would Jesus do?" I had had enough...I shot back "I don't know....maybe die uselessly on a cross and rot in the grave?"

Just then, the fool-du-jour noticed my pentacle, pointed and screamed "Witch, Witch! Child of Satan!" I think to this day she thinks she just barely escaped the clutches of satan.

I have just joined, about a minute or two ago.

I have an highly hypocritical southern baptist mother-in-law, who thinks I have turned her son into a gothic fag. Even if I'm a girl, and he's a dude, and we're together, he's still a fag.

And now I have found people just like me who would hate her with all their soul if they ever met her.
Yay me.

Laura Mallory, of Loganville, Ga., holds up a brochure for a summer camp for learning the art of witchcraft. Mallory was trying to convince a Gwinnett County board of education officer during an Oct. 3 hearing that Harry Potter should be banned from classrooms and school libraries.

ATLANTA - A suburban county that sparked a public outcry when its libraries temporarily eliminated funding for Spanish-language fiction is now being asked to ban Harry Potter books from its schools.

Laura Mallory, a mother of four, told a hearing officer for the Gwinnett County Board of Education on Tuesday that the popular fiction series is an "evil" attempt to indoctrinate children in the Wicca religion.

Board of Education attorney Victoria Sweeny said that if schools were to remove all books containing reference to witches, they would have to ban "Macbeth" and "Cinderella."

"There's a mountain of evidence for keeping Harry Potter," she said, adding that the books don't support any particular religion but present instead universal themes of friendship and overcoming adversity.

In June, the county's library board eliminated the $3,000 that had been set aside to buy Spanish-language fiction in the coming fiscal year. One board member said the move came after some residents objected to using taxpayer dollars to entertain readers who might be illegal immigrants.

Days later, the board reversed its decision amid accusations that the move was anti-Hispanic.
