lately my feet hurt when im doing a back bend on the floor...now ive been able to do full bends to the floor since i was a kid and i do them with my sword frequently but it seems lately....even when not going fully down, my feet are hurting!
any idea why this is happening? its always the top of my feet..whether im on tile, wood or carpet, the top of my feet start hurting about halfway down.
i recently did a sword dance and while doing the bend backwards with my sword it hurt like a b**** , i just sorta hid it and completed the routine

Re: feet hurt during back bends on the floor
Tue, June 16, 2009 - 9:55 PMIs it a stretching problem or a crushing problem? If it's a crushing problem then you need to distribute your weight towards your knees. This will keep the ankles and the knees safer, too.

Wed, June 17, 2009 - 4:14 PMAre you pointing the foot all the way? Are you rolling the foot outwards? These are both ways to avoid placing too much pressure on the top of the foot in this position.

Thu, June 25, 2009 - 7:37 PMI think I know what your talking about,.......and it's not a stretching, crushing pain......it's more a nerve pain. I have put away floor work for the time being.....but have noticed when zipping up my boots (it's winter here in Oz) that I get this brief shooting pain along the highest line of my upper foot , down to my toe. It's only on the left foot. Weird.....but I think of you, and wonder if it's the same thing. -
