Cob Fence building Equinox Party
at 35 Wyman St. in Jamaica Plain
Saturday, Sept. 22nd 10am-Sunday, Sept. 23rd 10pm
Hi folks. It's time for the next stage of Cobbalicous fun. Come on by at anytime during the event to tap in and have some fun. Please bring clothing you are willing to get dirty, as playing with clay is a fun and messy job. We’ll start at 10am on Saturday and work until dark, stopping for lunch. At dark we’ll clean up, cook dinner and eat, and then head to either the barn or the sun room and kick in the live music and dance jam. We’re happy to mention that Billy Woods will be joining us to help inspire the booty shaking. We will also take some time to circle up and honor the balance of dark and light for the equinox. There is plenty of room if you want to spend the night. Please bring bedding and a pillow and something to make the floor a bit softer for your self. Also, please bring a towel if you’d like a shower. Any food to throw in the stir fry for Saturday night or any other dish you’d like to bring is welcome.
For those of you that may not know, building with cob is an ancient earth friendly building technique using all natural substances. We began this project this spring and finished the foundation. The fence will be 60 feet long. The foundation involved digging four feet down along our property line, filling the ditch with gravel, and then building a footer and stem wall. Photos will be up on the heARTbeat website. Leading the work with cob will be Colleen Mathews on both days and we may be joined by Kate Sheppard on Sunday.

Re: Cob Fence building Equinox Party - this weekend!
Thu, September 20, 2007 - 9:20 AMHey Orion,
Is this a good enough place to leave an RSVP? Laa and I will be coming by sometime early afternoon, planning to stay the night, and then heading out early afternoon on Sunday.
We'll bring some good ol' foods for the throwdown. Is the house purely veg., or can we bring a meat option in addition to a veg? -

And we always need more Tarps -- if anyone reads this and has tarps to bring, that'd be appreciated!
