An amazing man with deep love for music, he resides in Humboldt County, is currently recovering from brain surgery after a major car accident last Friday Night. He is in ICU at Stanford University.

Nuff respect to all crew @ the juxtapoz event @ club six on the12th. It was the perfect way to see such talented Idren. Stereo Lion was chillin in the back Bubblin pon top of the DJ's dance hall riddims. Patch was on top once the house sound man gave him the juice to turn it up. Ressurector was in full control of the vibe and Todd Had one foot in Zion to be sure. Jillian was full of light not tomenchine she looks good! KILLER SHOW and a mighty night for the Roots Rock massive.

Champion Nation Objectives and HDC New Album...

Our apologies for taking so long to get our new album out. We have recorded quite a bit of material and are now going through the process of figuring out exactly how it is going to be released.

We have spent many many years working on building a sustainable community collective that is first and foremost an active vehicle for global liberation and the emancipation of consciousness. Through this process we have gained alliances with many artists and liberationaries of all types, all around the globe. The goal of Champion Nation is to be a poignant force of distribution and dissemination for liberation energy and be catalysts for the spark that brings our interdimensional war to the forefront of our perceived reality. This is a war of life and not death and a war of positivity. We use the term "war" because it is indeed a battle and training is necessary if we are going to be victorious. Truth is our Ultimate Weapon... but Truth is held behind a veil of fear.

The collective Champion Nation is gaining strength and many musical releases are planned. We are in the final stages of planning for release of the next Heavyweight Dub Champion album. We hope to have it out this fall. It will feature KRS ONE, Apostle, Stero-Lion, Dr. Israel, Elf Tranzporter, Killah Priest, and many others. We are also actively working on the debut album from Liberation Movement, Patch, and Totter's new project. We will be releasing a live HDC album, as well as videos. We are working on a documentary about our story of where we came from and what we are ultimately here in the flesh to accomplish. We are also starting to refine the Champion Nation Manifesto- a follow-up to The Last Champion Manifesto. The Liberation Movement album is also going to include a Liberation Movement Manual of sorts. We are extending our collective and have started a digital distribution company. Please send us music if you have interest in being considered for release. We are working on a film about the Last Champion and the Rise of Champion consciousness. We are also working on a Champion Nation compilation album that will include aspects of all these things listed above...

Champion Nation has just released the new Resident Anti-Hero album and soon Jillian Ann's Punk Mediations will also be released... stay tuned!

I’ll tell you straight up that it’s not the most technical mix ever, in fact if you listen close you can hear me touch the platter and other stuff like that, but whatever. Any feedback would be great. (especially the negative, cuz it helps me grow) I really respect all of your opinions, and I’m curious what you think, not just of the mixing but also of the tracks. HDC in Seattle Tonight w/Amon Tobin!!

Okay, HDC rocked it in Dunsmuir/Mt. Shasta last night, and I'm compelled to put a plug in for the Seattle show.
To keep you oriented, that's tonight, Thursday Oct 26 2006 at Neumos, with Amon Tobin!! (8:00p.m.)

Seattle is lucky/blessed to get this full-on dance floor opportunity. Work tomorrow? Ah, but all day at work you'll be reflecting on how happy you are to have experienced the night-into-early morning hours with HDC, and your co-workers will wonder about the satisfied smirk on your faces. HDC definitely feeds ya.

The Blue Sky Room is a bar/rest (and is a clean place). that is adjacent to the main restaurant (Senthong's); the bar has plenty of tables for dining if you want to catch a meal there pre-show. Food is a 'unique blend of authentic Vietnamese and Thai dishes.' The venue traditionally has offered a decent cut in tix price if ticketholder buys a meal too. I can't find any info on tix price, or age restrictions-- I'm guessing that once the main food service is closed for the night, the venue becomes 21+.

The dance area is small, par for the town. The stage is decent, but on the small side-- However, I've seen bands of 6 make it work with kit plus percussion set-ups. There is a piano on stage. Atmosphere is pleasant, the actual bar is gorgeous (curved wood).

Dunsmuir is a small railroad town, about 8 min. south of Mt. Shasta and 1 hr north of Redding. It's aprox. 3 hrs from Chico, 5 hrs from San Francisco, and is right off of Highway 5.

I'm guessing the place will be filled via word-of-mouth. I can't find any venue promotion online- Sengthong's used to have a website but I know had some trouble maintaining it, so they may have let that go. This show has been submitted to jambase.com and will likely show up there Monday.

Will be quite a night, I'm sure.

Wow, I am still reeling from your set Sunday night! You came on SO strong and kept it there the entire time. Both my lady and I were right up front and I'm surprised that we weren't blown back by the energy you were putting out. I think we would have been if we hadn't been skankin so hard on the heat comin off that stage. Mad respect and huge appreciation, I went into it knowing it would be one of my favorite parts of the festival and still had ALL of my expectations blown away. Keep it up fellas, we're feelin ya!

On a side note, that was the first time I have seen you with the female vocalist ( didn't catch her name, but got to thank her and Apostle after the set). She REALLY elevates the vibe, which is already blazin hot. Definately a keeper.

I was at ROTR saturday night at my camping area drinking a beer/smoking some herb when I heard a sick bassline coming from the mainstage. I asked my boys (Squarefield Massive Crew) who was on stage and they werent sure. I had to go check it out for myself and there you were tearing it up on stage. After hearing your tight infusion of Reggae/Breakbeat/Hip-Hop and experiencing the spine-tingling vibe you created, I went directly over to the CD booth and to my dismay, none of your music for sale. It felt like a bad case of Blue Balls... Then on Monday after getting home and checking out your website, I realized that most of the music you played is probably on your new album that's not out yet. Thanks... Do you have a date when the album will be available?

A VICTORY FOR LIBERATION MUSIC!!! Thank you to all those who participated with us at ROTR!

So... we showed up at ROTR expecting to play after Sean Paul on Friday Night. Carol Bruno, Head Promoter of Reggae On The River, blessed us with a great late night slot on the Main Stage.

As it turned out... things ran super late for a variety of reasons and the ROTR Promotion Team had to scramble and figure out what to do. We went back to Champion Nation Base Camp around 3 AM early Sat morning without knowing when we were going to get to play. The production staff let us keep our gear set up on stage all day Saturday and told us we'd be playing at 10PM- which is Prime Time for the entire festival - 17,000+

Apostle, Dr. Israel, and Lady K were all at the top of their game and Doc even crowd surfed in Higher Elevation.

It was an epic experience for us... seeing thousands with hands and fists in the air during Destroy the Industry helped to remind us that we are not alone.

Having hurdles, setbacks, and delays, yet being Championed by the Promoters as an act to showcase in primetime... gives us hope that there are people with power who are recognizing that the more we all join forces the more successfull our "reclamation process" will be. Our sound engineer, Oz, was utilizing special methodologies to spread the vibrations through the Earth and around the planet...

This was truly a victory for liberation music... Carol orchestrated a "positivity coup" on her own festival and reacted to certain antics in such a way as to give us the largest audience possible for our energy work.

Thank you to all those who helped and participated here and around the globe!

Heading into the Studio tomorrow to finish "Rise of the Champion Nation"

At long last we are heading up North to finish our follow-up album "Rise of the Champion Nation" - after recording sessions in SF, Gold Hill CO, Melbourne Australia, Borneo, and Denver... we are finally headed in for 13 days to finish. We are starting on July 4th and mixing "Babylon Beast"- doing our part in combatting the beast's genocide celebration days... The album will have 16 songs featuring input from about 25 artists from 5 different continents... it will be officially released this fall!!! Thanks for the support from everyone!!

RISE OF THE CHAMPION NATION - new album Finished!!!

We are proud to announce that after 4+ years of blood, sweat, juju, and tears our new album "Rise of the Champion Nation" is finally finished. We got back from LA a few days ago with the finished masters.

We did the last 16 days of mixing at Prairie Sun Recordings in Northern California. Our mixes were strictly analog- going through a mad variety of pre amps, eqs, fx, and for the most part ending up as 78 channels through a early 90's SSL console. There are over 25 people involved in the project including

Vida Sunshyne, Wailer B, Lady K, J Criminology,
Elf Tranzporter, Ganga Giri, Nellie West, Dan West,

We are still deliberating on the release date... we will keep you posted.
We couldn't be happier with the outcome!!!

The final 20 days consisting of little sleep and culminated in "Dawn" being mixed at Dawn after being awake for multiple days on end. We then headed off from Northern Cali straight to LA where we sat on the same bench Prince and Dr. Dre sit when Big Bass runs the final mix through the top secret magic filters and alchemizes the final mix into its new life form...

It has taken so much love, help, and support to get us to this point! Thank you to everyone who has contributed their energy to us over the 9 years!!!

Raindance!

Thanks for everyone who came out to join us at Raindance, we enjoyed pulling in the darkness on Saturday night. Sorry the sound was weird cause we set up on the side stage, but it seemed to work reasonably well. We would have liked to play for a few more hours, but we did our thing in the time alotted. What a nice campout vibe- I especially enjoyed all the decorations like Tarot Card walkways and Orbs in the trees and such. We very much enjoy playing in those kinds of settings- the creatures started to come out at night and we like to commune with them.

Oz is Bill Laswell's legendary "man behind the curtain". Oz is a studio and live engineer who has worked on over 60 projects with Bill Laswell (i.e. Praxis, Material, Tabla Beat Science, etc). He has also done significant work with Tom Waits, Buckethead and many more.

Monterey Bay Reggae Festival - Sept 2 (for those not going to Burning Man)

We are happy to anonunce that we will be performing at the Monterey Bay Reggae Festival on Labor Day weekend - in Monterey.
It is the same weekend as Burning Man and we will unfortunately not be performing at Black Rock City once again. When somebody finally builds us an airlocked mobile stage, we will play for days without stopping, but for now... we'll be in Monterey that weekend. We don't know our set times yet, but we'll post them when we do.

Dhamaal welcomes internationally renowned producer and dj Cheb i Sabbah (Six Degrees) and dhol champion Mitch Hyare. Also Maneesh the Twister & Kush Arora will perform a live laptop/dj hybrid dub set. Expect world bass, beats and breaks with a ragga touch from djs Janaka Selekta & Maneesh the Twister, plus a special bhangra breakbeat set by guest dj Jimmy Love of Non Stop Bhangra. Also on hand will be Senegalese sensation Samba Guisse on the mic, Dhamaal’s stellar video DJs Skip Intro and El Diablo, and live tabla accompaniment by Shabi Farooq & Ferhan Qureshi. There will also be special guests Riffat Sultana (daughter of Salamat Ali Khan), featuring Shiraz Ali Khan (guitar) and Ferhan (tabla) who will perform live South Asian classical, qawalli, & folk music in the Azaad lounge. As always Dhamaal transforms the venue with fine art paintings by NYoMI to create space like no other!

911 - the tide is changing

One thing I have been noticing, which V for Vendetta is indicative of is that the perception of the 911 attacks in the public and powerful private sector has been moving towards exposure... there are now movies that present all the evidence and government officials coming out admitting that they think the Bush regime was behind the 911 attacks (i.e. the former head of Star Wars Missile Program).

I think it is important for us at this time to remember that no matter what stories they present to us- the power of Truth lies within our own mind, hearts and spirits. We can determine what the Liberation Process is for ourselves... It is possible that they may let the exposure of Truth - lead to more deception. As we continue to educate ourselves and listen to our own purpose and follow our own hearts, we can create our own reality based on positive energy and a move towards Ultimate Truth. Ultimate Creative Power.

They may allow the exposure of themselves lead to a falsified "savior" figure who will lead us to "Truth", but we know that Truth exists inside our own Spirit.
