    Title:
    Witchcraft Medicine
    Healing Arts, Shamanic Practices, and Forbidden Plants

    Authors:
    Claudia Muller-Ebeling, Chirstian Ratsch, and Wolf-Dieter Storl

    Translator: Annabel Lee

    Publisher: Inner Traditions, Rochester, Vermont USA
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    This is a fantastic read. It's not usually the kind of book I pick up, but I followed a hunch (provided by You Know Who) and
    ended up being very happy that I did.
    While there are some aspects of the very brief introduction I could have done away with, the rest of the book provides wonderful insights
    into the murky path traversed by western culture and modern man from connection and oneness with nature, to isolation from and fear of external nature and corresponding aspects of our internal natures.
    Moreover, it's one of the best source books I've come across for the names (in several languages) and uses of magical and now forbidden plants as medicines, aphrodisiacs, poisons, 'flying ointments, and birth control agents. The exploration of these propeties and uses goes as far back into the mists of time as modern scholarship is capable of going. And in doing so the authors have presented practices which were non-rational, non-linear - even chaotic and anarchistic. But deeply spiritual, powerful, and effective.
    This is an awakening book. I can't recommend it highly enough.
    Oh, and there's an entire section dedicated to Hekate. Indeed she, as the original Root cutter and Mother of all Pharmakon, is referenced throughout.
    Hekate's blessings!
    Saeth
