My idea with this tread is to sugest music songs and other subjects connected to Hekate.
Inkubus sukkubus - Hecate cerridwyn. It,s a chanting. Most pleasing! Sirenia - Sister nightfall. Barathrum - Magic in atmosphere.
Necromantia - The Arcane Light Of Hecate.
Music band - Hecate enthroned
That,s all i can come up with today.

Re: Hekate in music and popular culture
Tue, February 12, 2008 - 10:04 AMI want to add that there are two groups in music media that seems to want to represent Hekate in music. The largest group are the pagan and historical music groups.(duh) Examples of interest: Daemonia Nymphe (Nocturnal Hekate as my fav) Inkubus succubus and kate west did some pieces too.
Aswell as the myriad of wicca, witchcraft and pagan chants. There is more tought.
There is also a fairly large black metal scene into this. It can be devided into two groups.. The first one is the take whatever seems cool ( no names mentioned) These are depicting Hekate in the later A.d. style. Personally i feel it,s ignorant and contra productive towards the goddess, and is the main reason to scare would be people off. Or else they are just to sissy ( tought that is my opinion)
There is also a group that is presenting an occultist wiev or search. Oriented to black magick and more morbid scenes. Tought it still holds true too. Many faces and paths. I just.. i don’t like the another goetia demon attitude and associations.
However there are many, and yet more in the more obscure genres, such as the gothic or experiemental music genres. They have my fullest respect. Altought Hekate is not outright presented it is still there i think. Atleast too me.
Something newly discovered and pretty brainy. A Russian musical group. Their best song this far aught to be Vishudha kali - Pamir witchcraft uzm.spb.ru/andyaum/vishudha_kali.htm
Sum up this far:
I really do miss the re creationist type of music. What sort of style did the original temples apply? What instruments and tones? They aught to have had music here and then. Aswell as other aspects presented. Everything is very oriented to night and darkness. Why aren’t there subjects like the crossroads, or enlightment ( torches) Or the magick in life, friendship, help e.t.c ? Or the procession of the key.. eleusian mysteries e.t.c Or why not music that has to do with the sea aspect more? Or the titan battle, that would be interesting. Or something about the transformation.
Starting out i had the sort of darkness wiev but by time things has changed. Never experienced her as terrifying. She can take people from anywhere between the deepest hells to the highest heavens.Anywhere really.. But this far there seems to be an overflow of deepest hell im musical culture. Not that i mind but there is more too do to make it fair.
