need to find a home ASAP

The new apt. / share I was supposed to rent called me a few days before I was to move in and said she was renting the room to her 4th son. Out of the blue (no I really wasn’t expecting this) the couple taking care of Layla said I have to find a home for her by the end of the week (time changed) or she goes to the pound… The place I am currently staying will not allow dogs on the property let alone my place. I’m planning to take her and try to sneak her in and leave her in my car but she will be spending her in the car while I’m at work and in the car at night when we’re sleeping and this is just not a good situation for any dog let alone a German Shepard.

I have sent dozens of emails to dozens of potential roommates and apartments that would take both Layla and I. Before the couple volunteered to take Layla until I could find a home that allows large dogs, I tried countless times to find a new home for her but couldn’t because she is a large dog.

I still have 100 degree temperature and told I may be developing phenomena and all of this is now just too over whelming. So I am desperately looking for a new home for Layla and yes I will drive her to you if you live out of Los Angeles or even in a different state (within reason!) I would highly appreciate gas money though.

Gets along with cats
Only barks at the dog park
VERY loveable and very sweet
Is not aggresive
VERY kid friendly and safe - she loves kids
She is a beach dog but hates baths
She is still a puupy but a large puppy and is appx 2 years old
She has all her shots

    Hi there!
Where are you exactly? Your profile says Los Angeles, but then so does mine and I live in Corona, CA which is about 1.5hours away from Los Angeles.
Getting a good foster home would be best. I would offer but we just found a home for our last foster and she was with us for almost two months. It was a big stressful ordeal for our family. We really need a break. Do you have money? You could try boarding her, but that does get expensive. Do you have pictures? I could cross post for you on Myspace and on petfinder. Also, visit www.pawdsqaud.com - they are a los angeles based rescue and they have an outreach program. You are able to submit your dog (that you are trying to find a home/foster home for) on their website. www.adoptachow.com also does that under guest adoptions. You will have a very hard time finding a rescue that will take Layla in. But, it would not hurt to call some GSD rescues and see if they have foster homes available. Also, try posting flyers at all the dog parks, groomers and doggie boutiques. Barks and Bitches on Fairfax was very nice to me and let me post a flyer there.
if you have a flyer made up or if you can make one up - prefer pictures (Pictures go a long way - people respond to pictures) - I can post them for you too around in my area and at my work.
Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help!
