The Tribal Market vision is that of a farmers market combined with a Middle Eastern bazaar. The Tribal Market’s vendors are LOHAS (Lifestyle of Health and Sustainability) businesses: i.e., farmers, services and performers which qualify to a LOHAS standard. The Market is a bi-monthly event, one day a month in SF and one in LA. The events are family friendly, artistically presented and environmentally sound. The Tribal Market’s goal is to provide a community forum for economic growth, community development and social action in both SF and LA communities at large.
I am designing the market as a California Farmers Market through the Agricultural Commissioner using their guidelines and infrastructure.
According to them this is what we need to start:
1. A Sponsor: any non-profit or government agency..or any Certified Producer’s Certificate can sponsor. This occurs as a formality and the sponsor assumes no responsibility.
->I have a NPO in mind, i invite any other ideas for sponsors, especially if the sponsor wants to help organize.
2. Location: a market location once a month in SF and in LA. I am working with a friend in SF seeking a location and organizing the SF market. In LA I am searching in the Venice Beach area.
->I am considering Cre8tivity in Venice, any other ideas?
3. License of Health for the Market.
