Treating Seizures Naturally

Linda suggested this thread in hopes of exploring various ways to treat seizure disorders. I've successfully managed to treat my own using the following: zinc, magnesium, folic acid, and Vitamin K. The magnesium, I feel, is the key nutrient. However, the others are as essential because they allow the magnesium to do a more than adequate job. In foods, leafy greens are an epileptic's friend, and Omega3 fatty acids are crucial to good cognitive health. In fact, they've been linked to improving one's' neuro-transmitters and thought retention, among other things. Rosemary is a lovely herb linked to improving memory and clarity of thought.
What other things have others used to assist with improving their nervous system?

For avoiding seizures, avoid alcohol. For nervous system in general, make sure your B vitamins are up to snuff!

Greetings..thanks Trish for starting this thread. I spoke to this in a previous thread, but wanted to say again that my parnter was able to stop taking his medication for eplilepsy, which was giving him horrible headaches (and his neurologist thought the solution would be to increase the medication). He started by taking Skullcap in the evening before going to bed and we changed his diet. Drinking infusions is helpful, oatstraw and nettle and eating whole food, no processed food. He drinks a lot of raw milk and raw milk kefir and this is what he thinks is the most important. This all keeps his nervous system healthy and his brain functioning smoothly. He has not had a seizure since going off of his medication. Of course while he was transitioning we were both keeping close watch and being sure there was not seizure activity (he tended in the past to have seizures at night during sleep). And he does not drink alcohol or caffeine, which I agree can both trigger seizure activity.

      Blessings
      Linda
