Folding Hexayurt

My name is Erin and my boyfriend and I just build an 8’ folding hexayurt out of the R-Max insulation board for Burning Man. However, we had some trouble getting it to fold back up once it was up. It seemed no matter how hard we pushed on the wall seams, it wouldn’t fold in. We resorted to cutting several wall joints which means we'll have to re-tape and cut every time we use it. Sorta defeats the whole point of building it prior to going. Has anyone built a folding one before and have recommendations on how to make it easier to take down? Or has anyone ever found that one of the boards bent/broke under the force so as that the yurt was unusable? I’m just worried about getting out onto the playa and having the thing break on us.

Thanks!

we made a bunch of 16'' diamter folding ones. they are a bit tricky to fold, but work. i don't have tips as i wasn't the mastermind. Roy (the mastermind) created a very detailed instruction manual in word format.....one of these days i'll track it down and post it. i don't think there were any instructions on how to build the 16' folding, so he altered a few things.
