Third Friday Bellydance at the Taj Palace with Gypsy Fire! Performance starts at 6:45pm.
February 17
Ubuntu will be rehearsing middle eastern rhythms at Gotta Dance!, located behind Erikson's shopping center on 8th street. This evening is open to all dancers who want to come down and dance in a private setting. It is not open to the public, participants
only! Starts around 6 pm, probably lasts two hours at the very most.
The Grove presents its 2nd installment of the ATLAS party on the 17th focusing on global rebel music ... with Portland's top three world music DJs ... gonna hear a lot of Indian, Arabic, African, Euro/UK underground, Latin, etc. One of the guys (E3) is suuuper into Arabic beats. It'll probably start out around 9:30 with some more mellow stuff and heat up as the night goes on. Last time it was super fun. Check the DJs out at www.anjaliandthekid.com.
