To all of my horticulturally inclined members;
What are you planning to do with your garden this year?
Strictly flowers? One or more varieties perhaps??
Veggies maybe??? Go for the historically accurate or the I just love em and want to eat them and share them with everyone I know??
Please post, I would love to hear from all of you.
Me???? Well, I plan on pulling all the dead, winter killed plants out, terrorizing gophers, chipmunks and other 4 legged critters (my cat and the dogs included of course) and watching the grass grow since I can do that without killing it. LOL

Re: What are your plans fellow members???
Mon, January 21, 2008 - 6:29 PMAs per my post, I started some seeds today.
I need to get some containers set up, and the beds tilled sometime before the seedlings are ready...
definately some veggies, melons, flowers and herbs.
If I didn't live inside city limits, I would be shooting ghophers in the back yard. NO QUARTER FOR GOPHERS!!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe I should try trapping them and have the hides tanned for trim on one of my costumes??

Mon, January 21, 2008 - 11:09 PM"A Fyne Gopher trimmed mantle, Your Majesty!" Though out here in California there seems to be a plague of squirrels...
I go for veggies AND flowers. Heirloom varieties. Peas, beans, non-period tomatoes !
A fwe more weeks here 'til planting.
Nice to see this Tribe up again! -

Tue, January 22, 2008 - 9:25 AMActually, I'm near San Francisco and have both. In my yard the gophers are more of a pest.
The squirels do not (currently) cause enough problem that I feel the need to take action against them.

Tue, January 22, 2008 - 7:28 AMTo not kill the plants I have. I also have the black thumb of death. But knowledge of period plants and such is interesting and necessary for someone playing a peasant.
