HOLEHEAD WILL BE 3 years young ON JUNE 2006. We want you to join us.
The idea behind (Yet) Another Hole in the Head is that horror, science fiction and fantasy films lend themselves to daring, experimental, subversive, and potentially transgressive filmmaking (within a narrative context). Genre films have always attracted great filmmakers: Tod Browning, James Whale, Alfred Hitchcock, Robert Wise, Stanley Kubrick, Dario Argento, David Lynch, David Cronenberg, Paul Verhoeven, Nicolas Roeg, George Lucas, Sam Raimi, Peter Jackson, Steven Spielberg to name but a few. So it seems quite natural for the San Francisco Independent Film Festival to provide a spotlight to celebrate a broad cross-section of the often dangerous, but always entertaining, bleeding edge of modern international horror, science fiction and fantasy film. "One of the best North American science fiction, fantasy and horror festivals." —Chris Gore’s Ultimate Film Festival Survival Guide "In a town with at least one film festival running every week of the year, the aptly named Another Hole in the Head suitably ends the complaint ‘San Francisco needs another film festival like it needs…’. But with it’s sweet lineup of horror movies both new and classic, Hole tempts even in an overcrowded field." —SF Weekly "Another Hole is severed heads above the rest." —The Daily Californian
