Ever since I was a little child, I have felt the energy when dancing. Sometimes I can even SEE it....for instance, I might feel colored energy coming from my hands or feel wings growing out of my back and "becoming" a bird, or maybe feel that I am dancing with a "ball of energy" that I am juggling around, etc. This doesn't happen all the time. Perhaps it happens when I have a lot of emotion in me....it helps me to truly feel and then release the emotion. Have any of you felt similar things while dancing?

Thu, July 10, 2008 - 7:34 AMI have similar experiences, however not quite so tangible as 'wings' or a ball of energy. For me, it's more of a pulling of energy from the earth or the air, manipulating the stream of energy, or a wave of color, if that makes any sense. -

Sun, July 13, 2008 - 11:01 AMI have always experienced dance as a way of connecting with the universal flow of energy, and while dancing Im aware of the moving energy in my body, and out in the world around us as well, and more and more so, over time, its become the basis of how I teach my bellydance classes.
more than color, i see sparkling light, like trails of farie dust
Ive also become very sensitive to other dancers energy, when its flowing, or where its blocked.
I love this subject.

Tue, July 15, 2008 - 7:07 AMWhen I was learning T'ai Chi, we also "felt" the energy. However, I never did finish that training....I got behind in the class because I was not able to follow as fast as the rest of the class (it was a HUGE class).
But on this site:

there are stories of the kids who "felt" the energy......and were able to manipulate it and/or use it for their health, peace, communication, safety, etc.
