I tried to make an executive decision last night at the Burner Monthly potluck. I tried to set the date for the First Alaskan Regional Burn (Holos) for July 11, 12, and 13th. The reason was to coincide with the Talkeetna Moose Droppings Festival weekend and give Visitors another reason for going to mile 100 (ish) on the Parks Highway. Everyone was on board till we realized it conflicted with another event in Anchorage. This event is for the electronica lovers and has some conflict with participant of the Holos festival. Should we schedule for the following weekend? July 18, 19, and 20th? is there going to be something else that will stop us from hosting that weekend? The only thing that matters to me today is that we get a date set by Wednesday so we can draw up contracts and start advertising.

...My 2 Cents... Schedule it for July 11, 12, and 13th, we have a large crowd that will already be in the vicinity. Make it that weekend and those who choose to participate in other events will choose to not attend the first Holos... A regional event by description accepts everyone, by adjusting the schedule for one group we will diss another - this is Alaska and there is SOMETHING to do every weekend, we will always find a conflict, a reason to change the date.
