More then half of this nation now lives two paychecks away from being homeless. It is time that we start to pay attention to this issue and offer up so real solutions as to how we as a nation can address this issue.
Like Breast Cancer, HIV/AIDS and Gay Rights, homeless people of this nation deserve respect and dignity. Just because someone is homeless, this does not automatically mean drug user, drunk, lazy, criminal or other stereotypes that many Americans now believe.
So in the spirit of unity, I invite you to join in and offer some positive advice, solutions and of course stories of success. As a nation we send billions to other countries to address all sorts of issues from basic human rights to adoption services. We can show the world of just how generous we can be to other nations when it comes to national disasters, but we fail our own American brothers and sisters when it comes to issues like homelessness.
I know with a little hard work and good old American know how, we as a nation standing UNITED can defeat the homeless issue in no time flat.
I want you to take a close look at the members of this tribe and you will see that many of them are homeless. Many are people who are working with homelessness people from the Atlantic Ocean to the majesty and beauty of the Pacific Ocean. I urge you to get involved. Everyone can make a difference.
In close I would like for you to also take a close look at some of our sister tribes and organizations working hard to bring about change for the many Americans who live on the streets.
