birthDAY SPAparty

Disclamer: Not one to spare the details.

We did it! Turned it into a slumber party - at six pm we had four eight year old girls who stayed up til eleven, were awake at five, and gone at ten. They made three spa inspired crafts and enjoyed three more spa inspired activities. After pizza and apples and green beans (menu by my daughter) we made bath salts (I gave the each of the girls their own mixing bowl. Used regular sea salt and added in 15 drops peppermint essential oil and 1tbs apricot seed oil per 3 cups salt). Hate having glass in the bathroom - clutz that I am...so I bought these tupperware type containers made for shaking up salad dressing and they decorated them with sticky foam letters. While watching a movie I gave them each a plastic dish pan with warm lavender water to soak their feet. I rubbed body butter on their hands and covered them with spa gloves then dried their feet one at a time buttered them and wrapped each foot in a hand towel. I put just a few curlers in their hair and gave them each a terry lined shower cap - which they all opted to wear to bed. When they woke at 5 they watched another movie and at 6:30 I got out fresh berries, banans, yogurt, granola and mini graham craker crusts which they put together in a variety of ways. After breakfast we made bath bunnies (washclothes rolled, folded and tied to look like bunnies). Next craft was glittering hair gel. Bought empty plastic containers from a bulk potions store, filled them with hair gel and added very fine purple poly glitter. I fixed their hair in ways only little girls and punkrockers love. After that we painted their finger and toenails, had a snack and at 10 am sent them home. Thank you all for your inspiration! Oh ya, I'll post some pics on my profile too...didn't take nearly enough...always the case
