Hello all!!!! I am putting together a gift for a grad and was hoping to get some help with ideas. I would like to make a gift basket of what she would need for her first dorm room. I like her to be able to make it a personal and comfortable space where she feels at ease. I would love to here ideas.

bed bath and beyond has some really affordable sets.
depending on your time and talent, for the homemade stuff:
you could easily make a bed spread buy sewing large rectangles of fabric together and then backing of your choice
make her a pair of shower slippers/flip flops; decorate them with huge flowers or beaded trim, etc.
a shower bag to hold her toiletries
a rug; get large weave type base and then slip strips of fabric, yarn, torn old t shirts, sheetsc etc through the holes and then just tie them in knots close to the base
painted or glass etched tea light candle holders.....but, she may have to say they are "shot glasses" lol
a cork board and some fimo clay thumbtacks
one or two hand painted/decorated paper lanterns
a decorated bowl to keep her keys and change in
and a $20 dollar gift card to the local coffee shop!

Wed, June 6, 2007 - 4:15 AMA laundry basket with soap and dryersheets is always helpful. Even a roll of quarters in there too.
