It's That Time Again . . .

when many of us have gift-giving in our near future. So, whatcha got?

This year, I'm hoping to get it together in time to print up a little recipe book of some of my favorite dishes and baked goods. I had hoped to manage it last year, but ended up doing an abbreviated version: cookies, candy and/or sweet breads with their recipes attached.

But, this year, I really want to make something more like a real recipe book. Problem is, I never measure when I cook, and, unless I'm baking, I don't follow someone else's recipe. So, it will be a pain to actually try to measure ingredients to make up the recipes. Ah, well.

I have some WONDERFUL old "Ladies' magazines" from, like, my great-grandmother's time that I want to copy some pages from, for a bit of nostalgia. There's one little recipe book entitled "All New Recipes That Men Like." Really!!

I'm something of a cumpulsive cook (and a very good one, I must say) so my brain is stuffed with possibilities.

What is anyone else thinking of making this year?

Cookbooks are always good, especially time honored recipes. I like your idea of adding vintage designs and sayings.
I am probably going to make mosaic Christmas ornaments. I had fun experimenting with glass in the summertime and want to try the ornies. I found plastic balls on eBay, so they shouldn't be too heavy.

i've actually started on the pine cone yulemas trees. unfortunately, the pine cones my friend had weren't the right ones, BUT! at my little ones Fall Festival there were loads! of the right ones in the parking lot, so, guess where i;m going tomorrow?? lol...

i just bought some resin and have been playing around with it. i'm hoping to make some cool things with it.

i bought a 6 pack on 6ish 8ish inch tall plain wooden nutcrackers from hobbiest lobbiest, one for each grandchild to paint and give to my mom

    i love doing this stuff!!
