Stacy and I attended the HTHS/Assembly of Dust show last night at the Independent. This note is to add my two cents worth concerning this colloboration.
We all love Billy, Jilian and Scott. They're fantastic and have gotten so much better as the have played together more. They're not to be missed.
But if you are on the fence about shows during this run, fall off and get yer arse to one or more. We had never heard Assembly of Dust previously and I got my socks blown off. They're the nest new band I have heard in a long time. Great songs that are well-played -- that's why I attend live music . . . how about you? The colloboration with all musicians on stage for the last set was off-the-hook.
Yer Papa says this is not be missed.

Tue, February 20, 2007 - 11:00 AMI gotta chime in here too. This was a fantastic double bill! I have been an AOD fan for a while now and was so happy to see them coming out here. I was even more happy since they had HTHS with them! Portland and Seattle shows were incredible. I have had an AOD tribe up for a while and been all lonely there. : ) Please drop in and join if you care to. I was glad to see the very warm reception these 2 bands got up here. We will be seeing more of AOD here for sure.

Tue, February 20, 2007 - 12:08 PMI've got to chime in too! The words "Oh hell yeah!!! " spring to mind. Run, do not walk to see Assembly of Dust. I was lucky enough to see the Portland and Seattle shows and both of them were fantastic! Great collaboration between the bands too. Seeing Scott play with Adam from AOD is incredible. I found it hard to believe that they had not been playing together for years. There was a segment of Speculator in Portland where the two of them were so into playing together that they seemed to forget about the rest of the band and the audience. I have to agree with Papa Phil - best new band that I have had the priviledge and pleasure of seeing in a while. So wish I was going to CO! -
